What you'll do

Kodalink AB (Koda Link Consulting AB) supports forward‑thinking companies in transforming their engineering capabilities through DevOps excellence, cloud‑native platforms, embedded software development, and advanced diagnostics. The team combines deep technical domain expertise with agile ways of working to deliver measurable value in every client engagement. Assignments range from modernizing cloud infrastructure to validating complex embedded systems and building simulation‑driven test environments. Kodalink AB focuses on creating scalable, reliable systems that help clients stay competitive in a rapidly evolving digital landscape. Joining the company means working in an environment that values innovation, quality, and future‑ready engineering solutions. Our client is a major powertrain developer and manufacturer in the automotive industry. They design and build advanced combustion engines and hybrid powertrain solutions for global vehicle manufacturers, with engineering depth, serious technology ambitions and a customer list most engineers would be proud to have on their CV. They are now looking for an R&D Risk Specialist to take ownership of how risk is analyzed, documented and improved across their entire R&D organization. This is not a seat in a big team. It is a role with real mandate, high visibility and direct impact on the company's certification and delivery success. About the role You become the owner of the FMEA process and the business owner of the FMEA tool within R&D. You will guide the organization toward high-quality, consistent and timely risk assessments, and act as the subject matter expert on risk and requirements management. Engineers, project leaders and management will turn to you for answers, and so will auditors. What you will do

  • Own the FMEA process in R&D for System, Function and Design FMEAs (Process FMEAs sit with Manufacturing Engineering)
  • Lead the implementation of a new FMEA tool: set requirements, define the process, run user acceptance testing and drive adoption
  • Be the organization's go-to expert on the AIAG-VDA methodology and lead the transition from current ways of working
  • Review and translate externally produced FMEAs from partners and suppliers into the company's methodology
  • Act as FMEA single point of contact for next-generation engine programs, helping close critical items
  • Follow FMEA status across all R&D projects and make sure analyses are completed on time and to a common standard
  • Design and deliver FMEA training, from introductory sessions to technical deep dives, and build the training material
  • Support the organization in IATF audits and in project questions on risk and requirements

Why this role matters The company's IATF certification work puts FMEA tooling and methodology in sharp focus, and this role is central to getting it right. You will be the person who sets the standard, trains the people and makes the whole organization audit-ready. Few assignments offer this much ownership and this clear a connection to business results. Skill Requirements

  • Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of risk management and of System, Function and Design FMEAs
  • Solid understanding of requirements management and systems engineering
  • Experience configuring and implementing tools
  • Background in R&D and engineering environments
  • Knowledge of different FMEA methodologies, ideally AIAG-VDA
  • Knowledge of ICE and hybrid powertrain units
  • Familiarity with traceability requirements and certifications such as ISO 9001/14001 and IATF
  • Experience hosting trainings and building educational material
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills, inside and outside engineering
  • A self-driven, initiative-taking mindset, strong stakeholder management and comfort juggling several initiatives at once

Meritorious

  • Experience working with other suppliers and OEMs
  • Basic engineering knowledge of other unit types (e.g. e-machines, range extenders)
  • Experience implementing a new requirements management system at an OEM or supplier
