Python Backend Engineer with C++ Experience

WE ARE LOOKING FOR PYTHON BACKEND ENGINEER WITH C++Experience We are looking for a Python Backend Engineer to join the team developing Unikie Marshalling, a standards-based vehicle fleet management system supporting autonomous vehicle operations. The solution is developed in close cooperation with automotive OEMs and vehicle operators and is tested with real vehicles in customer environments. You will be part of a small, self-organizing international team working across Finland and Poland. The role offers a high degree of ownership and the opportunity to contribute to an evolving technology in a flexible, fast-moving environment. Skills Required

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Design and implement new features for the vehicle fleet management system.

- Maintain existing functionality and investigate and fix bugs. - Work primarily on the Python-based backend, while also contributing to substantial C++ components of the system. - Maintain and extend the existing React-based frontend. Frontend work is a smaller part of the role and focuses mainly on functionality rather than visual design. - Take end-to-end ownership of your work in a small, self-organizing team. - Collaborate with car OEMs and vehicle operators and contribute to shaping the technology. - Participate in testing sessions, business meetings, and occasional customer-site installation and testing. Use modern AI-assisted coding tools as part of your development work. - REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong professional experience developing and maintaining backend software in Python.

- Ability to understand and work with existing C++ code; practical experience reading, debugging, or modifying C++ is an advantage. - Strong software-design skills, with attention to performance. - A structured and responsible approach to using AI-assisted coding tools. - A self-directed working style, with the ability to organize your own work and take ownership of responsibilities. Willingness to travel occasionally for testing sessions, business meetings, installation, and customer-site work. - CONSIDERED AN ADVANTAGE:

• Background in applied mathematics or algorithm development, particularly in robotics, path planning, pathfinding, graph algorithms, or optimization.
• Experience with horizontal and vertical scaling of backend applications, including an understanding of the trade-offs between the two approaches.
