Project Manager – SAP S/4HANA

Job Requirements:

• Programme Delivery Experience: At least 12 years of SAP delivery experience, including leadership of one or more end-to-end greenfield SAP S/4HANA implementations from mobilisation through go-live and stabilisation.
• SAP Activate Knowledge: Strong practical knowledge of the Discover, Prepare, Explore, Realise, Deploy and Run phases, including deliverables, quality gates, agile planning and implementation controls.
• Onsite Leadership: Proven ability to operate as the day-to-day onsite delivery lead, working closely with client executives, process owners, programme leadership, delivery partners and offshore teams.
• Integrated Planning: Ability to build and manage an integrated programme plan covering functional design, configuration, development, integration, data migration, testing, security, training, change management, cutover and hypercare.
• Cross-Functional Coordination: Strong understanding of dependencies across Finance, Procurement, Sales, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Logistics and enabling technology workstreams.
• Fit-to-Standard Governance: Experience driving Fit-to-Standard workshops, maintaining scope discipline and ensuring deviations, extensions and custom developments follow formal approval and governance.
• Commercial and Delivery Control: Strong capability in scope, schedule, budget, resource, RAID, quality, dependency and vendor management.
• Stakeholder Management: Confident engagement with senior business and technology stakeholders, including concise reporting, expectation management, decision facilitation and structured escalation.
• Deployment Readiness: Hands-on experience managing testing, data readiness, cutover rehearsals, business readiness, go-live and hypercare for a complex enterprise programme.
• Mobility: Ability to work onsite full-time and travel to programme, plant or business locations when required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Mobilise the Programme: Establish the delivery organisation, governance calendar, workstream structure, roles, onboarding, integrated plan, reporting standards and ways of working.
• Own Onsite Delivery: Act as the principal onsite point of coordination and accountability, ensuring rapid issue resolution, clear communication and effective collaboration between client and delivery teams.
• Manage the Integrated Plan: Maintain milestones, critical path, dependencies, resource demand and deliverables across all SAP and business workstreams; proactively recover slippage.
• Drive SAP Activate Execution: Ensure each phase, deliverable and quality gate is planned, completed, evidenced and approved in line with the selected SAP Activate roadmap.
• Coordinate Fit-to-Standard: Plan and govern workshops, track requirements and decisions, challenge scope expansion and ensure gaps follow agreed design and change-control processes.
• Control Scope and Change: Maintain the approved baseline, assess change requests for business value and impact, and present recommendations to the relevant governance forum.
• Lead Programme Governance: Run programme reviews, steering preparation, workstream checkpoints and escalation forums with accurate status, decisions, risks, actions and recovery plans.
• Manage RAID and Dependencies: Maintain an integrated RAID log, assign ownership, monitor mitigation actions and escalate issues before they affect critical milestones.
• Coordinate Partners and Teams: Align client teams, SAP functional and technical workstreams, system integrators, third parties and offshore delivery teams against common outcomes and acceptance criteria.
• Assure Quality: Define entry and exit criteria, monitor deliverable quality and readiness, and coordinate assurance reviews across design, build, data, integration, testing and deployment.
• Manage Financials and Resources: Track budget, forecast, utilisation, capacity and key skills; address gaps and maintain transparent reporting of programme performance.
• Drive Testing and Defect Resolution: Coordinate SIT, UAT and regression cycles, monitor defect trends, remove blockers and ensure business ownership of acceptance.
• Lead Cutover and Go-Live: Govern cutover planning, rehearsals, command-centre readiness, go/no-go criteria, deployment execution, hypercare and transition to support.
• Support Change and Adoption: Integrate organisational change, communications, training and business-readiness activities into the core delivery plan.
• Maintain Executive Transparency: Provide clear, concise and evidence-based reporting on progress, decisions, risks, financials and required leadership actions.
