Project Engineering Manager, Conceptual & Early FEED Location: Oslo preferred, although other European locations and hybrid working arrangements may be considered Start date: ASAP Basis of engagement: Contract or Staff considered The Role My client is seeking an experienced Project Engineering Manager to support projects from the earliest stages of technical development through FEED, tendering and subsequent EPC execution. The position will play a key role during conceptual and early-phase engineering, helping to define the technical solution, establish the engineering basis and ensure that proposed process module solutions are technically robust, commercially competitive and practical to execute. Working closely with the Tender Manager, Project Manager, technology teams, procurement and discipline engineering leads, you will take responsibility for the overall technical scope and provide engineering leadership from initial concept development and FEED through detailed engineering, procurement and fabrication. Projects typically involve complex process, utility and topside modules and multidisciplinary engineering teams covering Process, Electrical, Instrumentation & Control, Telecoms, Mechanical, Piping and Layout, 3D Modelling and Structural Engineering. Typical EPC project values range from approximately USD 30 million to USD 100 million. A strong understanding of process modules is important, particularly the ability to understand how individual systems and disciplines come together to form a complete engineered package. Key Responsibilities You will:

• Lead multidisciplinary engineering activities during conceptual design, early engineering, FEED, tender development and project execution
• Support the development and evaluation of technical concepts before the project progresses into detailed engineering
• Establish the technical basis, engineering priorities and execution strategy for assigned tenders and projects
• Coordinate technical input across Process, Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation, Structural and Layout disciplines
• Ensure early engineering decisions consider constructability, procurement strategy, fabrication requirements, schedule and overall project economics
• Work closely with Business Development, Sales, Technology and Procurement to develop competitive technical solutions during tendering
• Challenge and optimise proposed solutions to improve technical performance, cost, schedule and execution certainty
• Manage engineering deliverables, interfaces, priorities and critical activities throughout the project lifecycle
• Drive the engineering schedule and ensure technical milestones support procurement and fabrication requirements
• Provide technical guidance to discipline leads while maintaining overall responsibility for the integrated engineering solution
• Support the transition from conceptual and FEED activities into detailed engineering and execution
• Identify technical risks and opportunities early and ensure appropriate actions are taken before they affect project delivery
• Maintain clear communication between engineering, project management, procurement, fabrication and the client

Experience and Background To succeed in this position, you should have:

• A degree in a relevant engineering discipline
• Approximately 5 to 10 years or more of relevant experience, including responsibility for multidisciplinary engineering activities within EPC projects
• Experience working during conceptual, FEED or early project development phases as well as subsequent EPC execution
• Strong experience with process, utility, offshore or topside modules and packaged systems
• A strong understanding of how process modules are developed from an initial technical concept through engineering, procurement and fabrication
• Good knowledge of the interfaces between Process, Mechanical, Piping, Instrumentation, Electrical, Structural and Layout disciplines
• Familiarity with rotating and static equipment, piping, valves, instrumentation and associated packaged equipment
• Experience supporting technical tenders and working within short tender development timescales
• A strong understanding of engineering sequence, procurement requirements, fabrication constraints and project critical path
• The ability to assess technical options and make informed decisions during early project stages when information may still be developing
• Commercial awareness alongside strong technical judgement
• Strong communication and coordination skills
