What you'll do

Help us shape the future of media and technology. The media industry is changing faster than ever. AI, new technologies and changing audience habits are transforming how we create, distribute and consume content. At Media City Odense (MCO), we're bringing together the people and organisations who want to shape what comes next. Now we're looking for an ambitious, creative and hands-on Project & Community Manager to join our team in Odense and help take MCO to the next level. A small team. Big ambitions. Media City Odense is a growing innovation hub and community connecting some of Denmark's leading media companies, technology businesses, startups, researchers and educational institutions. Founded by TV 2 Denmark, JFM, TV 2 Fyn and the University of Southern Denmark, we've built a strong foundation for collaboration, innovation and knowledge sharing. And we're just getting started. Our ambition is to become Denmark's leading national hub for media technology and innovation. A place where new ideas turn into real projects, where talent meets opportunity, and where the industry comes together to develop the solutions of tomorrow. From our annual MediaTech Festival to industry events, innovation projects and new partnerships, we're building a community that creates value all year round. And that's where you come in. As our new Project & Community Manager, you'll play a central role in turning ideas and ambitions into activities, experiences and tangible results. You'll work closely with our CEO, Event Manager and the wider MCO community, taking ownership of projects while helping develop and strengthen our organisation. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Project management: Plan, coordinate and execute projects and initiatives, from the first idea to the final delivery.
  • Events & experiences: Help develop and deliver workshops, networking events, industry sessions and our annual MediaTech Festival.
  • Community & relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with our members, partners and stakeholders, ensuring they experience real value from being part of MCO.
  • Marketing & communications: Create engaging content for our website, newsletters, social media and other communication channels, including basic visual and graphic content.
  • Business development: Contribute ideas, identify opportunities and help develop new initiatives that support MCO's growth and ambitions.
  • Making things happen: Keep projects, partners and priorities moving forward, including the practical details that make the difference.

You'll have plenty of opportunities to put your own ideas into action, take responsibility and make a visible impact on the organisation. Who are you? We're looking for someone who combines structure with creativity, initiative with execution, and professionalism with a healthy dose of curiosity. You enjoy working with people, you're comfortable taking ownership, and you don't need a detailed instruction manual to get started. Ideally, you:

  • Have experience with project management, events, communications, community building or a related field.
  • Are highly organised, proactive and comfortable managing several projects at once.
  • Have strong communication skills and can create engaging written and visual content.
  • Have a good eye for design and are comfortable using digital tools to produce presentations, social media graphics and marketing materials.
  • Enjoy building relationships and working with people across different organisations and industries.
  • Are curious about technology, AI, innovation and the future of media.
  • Communicate confidently in both Danish and English.
  • Thrive in a small team where responsibilities are broad, decisions are made quickly and everyone contributes.

Experience from the media or tech industry is an advantage, but not a requirement. We're just as interested in your mindset, initiative and ability to deliver as we are in your CV. What do we offer? At MCO, you'll join a small, dedicated team with ambitious plans and the freedom to help shape how we achieve them. You'll get:

  • Real influence: An opportunity to shape projects, activities and the future development of MCO.
  • An exciting network: Direct access to leading media companies, technology innovators, entrepreneurs and decision-makers.
  • Variety and responsibility: A broad role where no two weeks look quite the same.
  • Room to grow: Opportunities to develop professionally, take ownership and explore new ideas.
  • A collaborative culture: An informal working environment built on trust, initiative, curiosity and a shared ambition to make a difference.
