Production/Process engineer – automation

About the role As a Production/Process Engineer at APR Technologies, you play a key role in developing and improving our manufacturing processes. You are responsible for establishing robust, efficient, and high-quality workflows for both new and existing products. Working closely with production, R&D, and quality teams, you support the industrialization of technical solutions and ensure scalable, reliable output. You design and implement new automated production equipment and support the commissioning of new machines and automation systems, troubleshoot technical issues in production, and contribute to continuous improvements in flow, quality, and safety. Top responsibilities: - Develop and optimize automated equipment and manufacturing processes - Define/specify and implement tools, fixtures, equipment and methods for serial production - Participate in industrialization projects when introducing new products or processes - Optimize production flows with focus on quality, efficiency, and cost - Manage technical change and implementation projects in production, from requirements to deployment - Drive the specification and procurement of appropriate production tools and equipment in collaboration with engineering and sourcing - Work actively with continuous improvement using LEAN and/or other efficiency principles - Collaborate with maintenance and quality departments to ensure production reliability and compliance - Own process-related documentation and routines - Perform post-calculations and capacity analysis to support operational decisions - Actively participate in improvement work related to safety, ergonomics, and workplace environment Who you are: You are someone who thrives on building things up, not just maintaining what already works. What you bring: - Degree in mechanical, automation & mechatronics, or production engineering - Knowledge of LEAN principles, 5S, and process optimization - Proficiency in production documentation and interpretation of technical specifications - At least two years experience in robot manufacturing and PLC programming Nice to have: - Experience in Machine learning and training of models using manufacturing data - Experience in equipment specification, procurement, and integration is an advantage - Knowledge of optics and vision HW - Experience with Ultrasonic Welding - Project management experience within production or technical implementation is an advantage Working at APR Technologies: APR operates at the intersection of physics, engineering and one of the most pressing problems in technology: thermal management.
