What you'll do

Production Chemistry Engineer Location: Esbjerg, Denmark Contract Type: Residential - Contract Start Date: 1st November 2026 End Date: 30th September 2027 Work Schedule: Monday - Friday Work Location: Onshore Scope of Work

  • Provide Tier 1 / Tier 2 assistance to Smart Room and site related to Production Chemistry with regards to flow assurance, integrity, production, environment, legislation, etc.
  • Provide support to other departments within the affiliate in relation to production chemicals.
  • Monitor and support Environment compliance related to production chemistry and produced water discharge.
  • Monitor daily consumption, daily performance and instruct the necessary adjustments related to production chemicals.
  • Responsible for monitoring the site Lab analysis results and provide recommendations for adjusting chemical treatment or analysis methods.
  • Responsible for monitoring offshore chemical stocks and ensuring timely delivery of production chemicals to site.
  • Responsible for planning and organization of chemical cleaning operations.
  • Responsible for certification and servicing of laboratory equipment.
  • Request Material Numbers for production chemicals.
  • Prepare and update permit requests for compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Ensure a continuous improvement of the chemical treatment (cost per produced barrel, environment, efficiency, etc.).
  • Perform regular assessments of the chemical treatment and organize trials as required with vendors and OneTech.
  • Specify requirements for temporary chemical injection equipment as required.
  • Produce monthly reports including KPIs.
  • Support the Production Support budget allocated to chemicals.
  • Ensure a good information flow between Process, Flow Assurance, HSE, Inspection, Labs and Site.
  • Improve safety of operations.
  • Ensure the specifications of the gas, oil and water produced in the different assets.
  • Optimise the chemical treatment cost (chemical OPEX per produced barrel).
  • Improve assets' environmental impact.
  • Reporting.

Background / Qualification / Experience

  • Education: Bachelor's or equivalent level in Chemical / Chemistry Engineering.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Oil & gas process knowledge.
  • Ability to effectively monitor, assess and improve the specification of the different product streams by optimisation of production chemistry.
  • Identify areas for improvement and propose solutions.
  • Capability to define and execute production chemical trials.
  • Behavioural Competencies:
  • A clear ability to work across disciplines.
  • Self-motivated, and delivery oriented.
  • A clear focus on HSE.
  • Service minded and client focused.
  • Language Skills: Fluent in English.
  • Specific Knowledge:
  • Separation chemistry
  • Hydrate formation / inhibition
  • Scale formation / inhibition
  • Experience: 3 to 5-year experience in Oil & Gas industry, preferably with experience in Chemical Injection and Trials.
