Product Development Engineer (m/f/d)

To strengthen our technical organization in Gothenburg, we are looking for a Product Development Engineer (m/f/d) on a fulltime basis. You will develop the next generation of KRAHN Specialty Fluids products and technical capabilities – from laboratory concept through scale-up and industrial production. The role combines formulation chemistry, experimental work, corrosion protection and application development, with the freedom to explore ideas that can strengthen our product portfolio, know-how and technical independence. What does a working day look like? Your day may involve evaluating new formulations, comparing properties such as freezing behavior, viscosity or stability, testing new functional components or discussing raw-material alternatives with suppliers. You could also develop test methods, study new technologies or plan the next step from laboratory trial to pilot and production scale. Key responsibilities

• Develop and optimize new and existing product formulations.
• Investigate how formulation parameters influence performance and long-term reliability.
• Evaluate alternative raw materials, functional components and manufacturing methods.
• Plan, develop and evaluate methods for laboratory testing, including corrosion, stability, ageing, material compatibility and thermal properties.
• Explore new technologies and applications and translate promising opportunities into development projects.
• Drive laboratory-to-production scale-up together with Production and Technical colleagues.
• Collaborate closely with the Technical Specialist – Production & Applications, using production and field data to guide product improvements and future development.

Your profile

• MSc in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physical Chemistry or a comparable field.
• Preferably at least 2 years of relevant laboratory, formulation or product-development experience. Strong understanding of experimental work and a structured approach to planning, documenting and interpreting tests.
• Knowledge of formulation chemistry, physical chemistry, materials or corrosion is valuable.
• Curious and innovative, with the discipline to turn ideas into reproducible results.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and across functions.
• Fluent in Swedish. Professional working proficiency in English is required as the role involves international collaboration.
• Experience with heat transfer fluids, corrosion inhibitors, industrial cooling, patents/IP or food-approval requirements is an advantage.
