Product Designer

UtilityCloud is looking for a Senior Product Designer in Halden or Oslo. You’ll be our first in-house designer and be key to build the look and feel and the designs system for the leading energy retail software for the Nordics.

The Role We are looking for a Senior Product Designer to build the best user experience in energy retail. UtilityCloud has been groundbreaking in this industry by bringing modern design and technology to a market that has typically run on legacy systems. Our customers use our platform to innovate and improve how they run their business — and the software they spend their working day in is ours. You will own design end to end: framing the problem with product and users, then flows and interaction, then the visual system that keeps our surfaces consistent as we scale across the Nordics. You are our first designer, so you will decide what "good" means here and then build the system that makes it repeatable. What makes this different from most senior design roles is depth. Energy retail is genuinely complex — settlement, invoicing, market communication with Elhub — and our users are professionals who uses UtilityCloud as their main production system. This is dense, operational software, not a landing page where the design and user flows has direct business impact. UtilityCloud believes the future of energy retail is heavily automated and AI-driven, so you will also design capabilities where the system proposes and the human decides — an area where the interaction patterns are still being written. In 2026 our company-wide focus is "go slow to go fast": scope discipline, and things that are built, tested and clearly documented. For this role that means we would rather you got a few flows genuinely right, and wrote down why, than redesigned everything at once. Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with engineering, customers, and product to initiate and complete roadmap projects
• Redesign the key screens and flows our users spend their day in — and fix the smaller "paper cuts" you find while you are in there
• Run user research directly with the people who use our platform, and turn what you learn into design decisions the team can act on
• Create mockups, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals to communicate ideas and describe their execution
• Build a lightweight design system and a reusable component library, grown out of real product work rather than in advance of it
• Make accessibility part of how we design, not a late fix

Career Path UtilityCloud is a new company with plans to grow. You will be instrumental in helping us grow and onboarding new designers that we will hire in the future. This is a senior hands-on role where you will have the opportunity to grow with the company into either more senior individual contributor roles or managerial roles. What We Are Looking For · A senior experienced designer with at least 5+ years of designing SaaS applications — ideally complex, data-dense tools · Bonus if you also have experience with consumer apps · Able to take user and product input and design both a great user experience and visual designs · Experience building design system and reusable components · Experience with user research and working directly with users · Expert user of Figma · Universal design experience · High degree of autonomy and proactive drive with ability to thrive with minimal oversight and supervision · Team player · Fluent in English, bonus if you also speak Norwegian or Finnish What We Offer
