What you'll do

CoolCo is looking for a Purchaser to join our Operational Procurement team in Oslo. In this role, you will be responsible for purchasing and logistics for LNG and LPG vessels operating worldwide coordinating closely with vessels, suppliers, and internal departments to keep things moving efficiently and commercially. Whether you are early in your career or bringing years of relevant experience, what matters most to us is your curiosity, your sense of ownership, and your ability to make sound decisions when priorities shift quickly. Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage purchasing and logistics for an assigned group of vessels operating across global locations and schedules.
  • Handle the full procurement cycle, from requisition and sourcing through to purchase order placement, delivery coordination, and invoice follow-up.
  • Communicate daily with vessels, suppliers, logistics providers, and internal departments to ensure timely and accurate fulfilment.
  • Source technical and operational equipment in a cost-effective and reliable manner, comparing quotations and making well-reasoned commercial assessments.
  • Negotiate prices and commercial terms within the available operational timeframe, balancing cost, quality, timing, and risk.
  • Identify and pursue savings opportunities without compromising delivery, quality, or operational requirements.
  • Coordinate deliveries to vessels across different countries and time zones, resolving delivery, quality, and invoice-related issues as they arise.
  • Support the management of contracts and framework agreements with key suppliers.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of procurement processes and working methods.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and maintain accurate procurement data at all times.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in logistics, shipping, engineering, business, or a related field — though relevant experience and personal suitability are equally valued.
  • Experience in procurement, logistics, shipping, technical operations, or a supplier-related industry is an advantage; recent graduates with the right mindset are equally welcome.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously without losing sight of important details.
  • Proactive, structured, and reliable, with a natural sense of ownership and the drive to see tasks through to completion.
  • A commercial mindset — able to weigh cost, quality, timing, and operational risk when making decisions.
  • Confident and professional communication skills in English, with ease in working across different professional and cultural backgrounds.
  • Comfortable with digital systems and quick to learn new tools and platforms.
