Process Development Engineer

FIBERNEX is developing advanced porous materials and coatings for energy and industrial applications, with core technology in electrodes for alkaline electrolysis. We are an early-stage startup with a small, fast-moving team. Our technology is validated in the lab, we have interest from several electrolyzer manufacturers, and we are now scaling up together with industry partners. This is a chance to join at the beginning and shape how our product is made. You will lead the scale-up of our electroless nickel plating process, from lab-scale samples to industrially relevant batch sizes. Your focus is the lab and the coating process. You will work closely with our plating partner and directly with the founder. What you will do: • Lead the scale-up of our electroless nickel plating process • Turn a process validated at lab scale into a robust, repeatable process, ready for pilot and later roll-to-roll production • Manage and maintain our lab space, including bath chemistry, coating uniformity, process control, and throughput • Optimize process parameters (temperature, concentration, deposition rate) to improve coating quality and consistency • Run experiments, troubleshoot issues, and iterate based on results • Apply and develop knowledge of industrial plating equipment, process safety, and quality control What we are looking for: • Background in chemical engineering, electrochemistry, or materials science • Hands-on experience with electroplating or electroless plating • Comfort scaling a wet-chemical process from small to larger batches • A methodical, practical mindset: you like running experiments and fixing problems • Willingness to work in a startup, where the role is broad and changes quickly What you get: • The chance to shape our manufacturing process from lab to industrial scale • Real ownership over process development • A small team where your work has direct impact How to apply: Send your CV and a short note about your experience to andrearusso@fibernex.dk.
