What you'll do

Dear Colleagues, I’m excited to announce a new position at my department! Please share with your networks or apply yourself if it fits what you’re looking for! The Department of Political Science at the University of Gothenburg is hiring a postdoctoral fellow for BIG PEACE (Bridging Injustice Gaps: Peace Enhancement in the Aftermath of Conflict Engagement), my 5 year project funded by the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation. BIG PEACE asks what justice means to the people most affected by conflict, including victims, former combatants, and local communities. It hopes to push the research frontier on understanding who differing stakeholders count as a victim, whether state-led justice is always the best route to peace, and where areas of agreement lie. As a postdoctoral research fellow, you will design, program, run, and analyze large-N surveys and survey experiments, and you will contribute to fieldwork across conflict-affected countries. The position offers co-authorship within the team as well as freedom to develop your own studies and research profile. It is a 2-year, full-time position, with a possible third year, starting in August 2027 or as agreed. We’re looking for a PhD in political science, economics, or a related field, with strong quantitative skills, experience in survey research, causal inference, and experimental methods. Fieldwork experience and relevant languages are a plus. Apply here: https://web103.reachmee.com/ext/I005/1035/job?site=7&lang=UK&validator=9b89bead79bb7258ad55c8d75228e5b7&job_id=41688
