Part-Time Community Engagement Coordinator

The Village of Matteson seeks a dedicated, community-minded candidate to fill the position of Part-Time Community Engagement Coordinator. This is a 20-hour-per-week position, under the general direction of the Community Engagement Director. The ideal candidate will serve as a vital bridge between the village and residents, ensuring transparent communication, promoting civic participation, and handling the core administrative operations that keep public outreach initiatives running smoothly. Responsibilities include administrative support and operations, civic engagement and outreach, program and event management, and Village communications. A Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Communications, Business Administration or a related field is preferred. 2–4 years of experience in local government, administrative support, community organizing, or public sector outreach is required. The salary for this position is $28 per hour. Successful applicants will be required to undergo a background check, drug screen and physical at the Village's expense prior to final selection.
