Based in Oslo, Norway, this warm and welcoming family are seeking an experienced, confident and highly professional Maternity Nurse to support them following the arrival of their new baby. We know the family well, having previously assisted them with their maternity and nanny requirements, and their longstanding Nannies of St James nanny remains happily employed within the household. This is a particularly lovely opportunity for a maternity nurse who enjoys working with an experienced, relaxed and welcoming family, and who is confident in establishing excellent new-born routines from the outset. The Position:

• Location: Oslo, Norway
• Start date: Late March/early April 2027, a few days ahead of the planned C-section
• Duration: Approximately 4 months
• Schedule: 5 x 24 hours per week, with occasional weekend flexibility appreciated
• Baby: Fourth child, due early April 2027
• Older children: Three boys, aged 9, 7 and 4 years
• Feeding: Mother intends to breastfeed
• Accommodation: Spacious, private apartment within the family residence
• Salary: Excellent remuneration, dependent upon experience

About the Family: Our clients are a delightful Norwegian family with three older boys, 9, 7 & 4 years, who are very much looking forward to welcoming their new sibling. The family have an established, full-time nanny, placed by Nannies of St James, who will continue to care for the older children, allowing the maternity nurse to concentrate on the new-born and supporting the mother during her recovery. The family have recently moved to a beautiful home in central Oslo and can offer particularly comfortable private accommodation: a spacious apartment within the residence, with its own bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living room and laundry facilities. The apartment has both a connecting entrance to the family home and its own separate entrance. There is also a much-loved dog, very much part of family life, so a genuine fondness for dogs is important! Job Description: The parents have previously had excellent experiences with experienced maternity nurses and favour well-established routines from an early age, including Gina Ford-style approaches, with the aim of encouraging healthy sleep habits and a contented, settled baby. They are therefore looking for a maternity nurse who is confident in guiding and supporting these routines, whilst remaining flexible, sensitive and responsive to the individual needs of the baby and mother. The mother intends to breastfeed, so the maternity nurse should be experienced in supporting breastfeeding mothers, as well as managing the practical aspects of new-born care, settling, sleep and daily routines. As the delivery will be by planned C-section, the family would ideally like their maternity nurse to arrive in Oslo a few days before the birth, allowing time to settle in and become familiar with the household. The Ideal Candidate: We are seeking an experienced, knowledgeable and reassuring maternity nurse who combines excellent professional skills with a naturally calm, warm, easy-going and adaptable personality. The successful candidate will be confident in her expertise without being overly prescriptive, and will enjoy working collaboratively with parents who already have considerable experience of new-born care. Experience supporting mothers following C-section deliveries, breastfeeding support and establishing structured new-born routines will be particularly valued.
