Network Specialist (m/w/d)

We are looking for an experienced Network Specialist to support the design, implementation, operation, security, and continuous improvement of enterprise network services across multiple business locations and cloud environments. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining reliable and secure connectivity that supports corporate operations, digital business services, manufacturing environments, and cloud-based solutions. You will work closely with infrastructure teams, security specialists, service providers, telecommunications partners, and technology vendors to modernize and strengthen the enterprise network landscape. Responsibilities

• Design, implement, maintain, and optimize enterprise network infrastructure supporting business-critical operations.
• Manage LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, WLAN, internet connectivity, and remote access solutions across multiple locations.
• Configure and support routing, switching, network segmentation, and enterprise connectivity services.
• Administer enterprise firewall platforms, security policies, and network access controls.
• Design, implement, and support VPN solutions, including Site-to-Site VPN, Remote Access VPN, IPSec, and SSL VPN technologies.
• Monitor network performance, availability, utilization, and capacity across the enterprise environment.
• Troubleshoot network incidents, connectivity issues, and performance bottlenecks through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance with security standards, policies, and best practices.
• Support hybrid cloud connectivity between on-premises environments and cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, and Alibaba Cloud.
• Lead infrastructure lifecycle activities including upgrades, technology refreshes, and modernization initiatives.
• Implement and maintain high-availability network architectures and redundancy solutions.
• Support and manage network services including DNS, DHCP, IP Address Management (IPAM), and load balancing.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and business continuity initiatives.
• Develop and maintain network documentation, architecture diagrams, standards, and operational procedures.
• Coordinate with telecommunications providers, managed service partners, and technology vendors.
• Support network migrations, office expansions, infrastructure projects, and transformation programs.
• Contribute to network automation and operational efficiency improvements through scripting and infrastructure management tools.
• Perform vulnerability remediation, patch management, and network hardening activities.
• Participate in on-call rotations and provide support for critical operational incidents when required.

Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3–5+ years of experience in Network Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, Network Operations, or a similar technical role.
• Proven experience managing enterprise-scale network infrastructure and business-critical connectivity services.
• Strong hands-on experience with routing and switching technologies from vendors such as Cisco, Fortinet, Huawei, or equivalent.
• Experience configuring and supporting enterprise firewalls and network security solutions.
• Strong knowledge of: TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP, DNS, DHCP, NAT
• Experience managing: LAN environments, WAN environments, SD-WAN solutions, Wireless networks (WLAN), Internet edge services, Remote access solutions
• Experience implementing and supporting: IPSec VPN, SSL VPN, Site-to-Site VPN, Remote Access VPN
• Strong understanding of network security principles, network segmentation, Zero Trust architectures, access management, and intrusion prevention.
• Experience with firewall technologies such as: Fortinet, Cisco Firepower, Cisco ASA, Similar enterprise security platforms
• Experience supporting hybrid cloud networking across AWS, Microsoft Azure, and/or Alibaba Cloud.
• Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in operational and project-based environments.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
