MSTR/BO – BI Lead/Expert

Role : MSTR/BO – BI Lead/Expert Locations : Madrid, Spain / Warsaw, Poland / Stockholm, Sweden Mode: B2B contract - Hybrid Role Summary We are seeking an experienced MicroStrategy (MSTR) and SAP BusinessObjects (BO) Expert to design, develop, optimize, and support enterprise business intelligence solutions. The role will work closely with business, data, and technology teams to translate reporting requirements into scalable dashboards, reports, semantic models, and governed analytics solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain dashboards, reports, dossiers, documents, and analytical applications using MicroStrategy and SAP BusinessObjects.
• Build and optimize semantic layers, including MSTR schemas and BO Universes, to enable consistent and reusable reporting.
• Translate business requirements into functional and technical BI designs, prototypes, and production-ready solutions.
• Develop complex metrics, prompts, filters, hierarchies, security models, and report distribution schedules.
• Perform performance tuning across reports, dashboards, SQL, caches, cubes, and underlying data sources.
• Administer and support MSTR and BO environments, including deployments, user access, scheduling, monitoring, and issue resolution.
• Plan and execute platform upgrades, migrations, patching, and content rationalization with minimal business disruption.
• Establish development standards, reusable components, documentation, testing practices, and release controls.
• Collaborate with data engineering teams to validate source data, data models, and reconciliation rules.
• Provide technical leadership, troubleshooting support, peer reviews, and knowledge transfer to BI developers and support teams.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on expertise in MicroStrategy, including Architect, Developer, Workstation, Library, Dossiers, Distribution Services, Intelligence Server, and Enterprise Manager.
• Strong hands-on expertise in SAP BusinessObjects, including Web Intelligence, Information Design Tool, Universe Design Tool, Central Management Console, and BI Launch Pad.
• Proficiency in dimensional modelling, semantic-layer design, enterprise reporting, dashboard development, and self-service analytics.
• Advanced SQL skills with experience analysing execution plans and optimizing database queries.
• Experience with role-based access, object-level security, row-level security, authentication, and audit requirements.
• Knowledge of BI platform architecture, capacity planning, high availability, disaster recovery, and production support.
• Experience integrating BI tools with relational databases, data warehouses, cloud data platforms, and APIs.
• Strong analytical, stakeholder-management, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with BI modernization, tool consolidation, report rationalization, or migration between MSTR, BO, and modern cloud analytics platforms.
• Exposure to Snowflake, Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server, or similar enterprise data platforms.
• Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools, data governance, metadata management, CI/CD, and Agile delivery practices.
• Experience in banking, financial services, or another highly regulated industry is advantageous.
• Relevant MicroStrategy or SAP BusinessObjects certification is preferred.

Experience & Education

• 8+ years of experience in business intelligence and enterprise reporting, with substantial hands-on experience in both MicroStrategy and SAP BusinessObjects.
• Proven experience delivering complex, business-critical BI solutions across the full delivery lifecycle.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
