Microsoft SQL Server DBA

Key responsibilities  Design and maintain standard SQL Server builds and high-availability configurations, including Always On availability groups across availability zones and quorum/witness design.  Work with platform engineers to turn these standards into automated, self-service database offerings.  Patch, upgrade and maintain SQL Server instances, and plan version upgrades.  Own backup, restore and recovery testing against agreed recovery targets.  Tune performance, monitor capacity and troubleshoot production issues.  Apply security hardening, access control, encryption (TDE) and auditing; write runbooks and documentation. Must-have  5+ years as a SQL Server DBA, with SQL Server 2019 or 2022 in production.  Always On availability groups and Windows Server Failover Clustering (WSFC) in production, including quorum and witness design.  SQL Server running on VMware vSphere.  Automation of DBA tasks with PowerShell (for example dbatools).
