What you'll do

We're working with a well-established engineering contractor delivering major data centre and pharmaceutical projects across Sweden. They are looking for a Mechanical Project Manager to take ownership of mechanical works from project mobilisation through to commissioning and final handover. You'll be responsible for coordinating site teams, managing subcontractors, working directly with clients and consultants, tracking commercial performance and ensuring mechanical systems are delivered in line with programme requirements. This is a role for someone who enjoys being involved in every stage of project delivery, rather than focusing solely on construction or commercial management. The Role You'll lead the delivery of mechanical installations including HVAC, building services and mechanical piping systems, working closely with project teams and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing mechanical works from project award through to final handover
  • Coordinating engineers, supervisors, subcontractors and specialist trades on site
  • Monitoring programme progress, resources and installation activities
  • Working with commercial teams on project costs, variations and forecasting
  • Liaising directly with clients, consultants and design teams
  • Managing commissioning, testing and system completion activities
  • Ensuring quality, safety and documentation requirements are achieved throughout delivery
  • Supporting the development of junior engineers and site teams

Why Consider It? The projects are technically demanding and involve facilities where building performance is critical to the end user. You'll be trusted to make decisions, manage client relationships and take ownership of project outcomes rather than simply overseeing a small section of works. The business has a strong pipeline of pharmaceutical and mission-critical projects, offering the opportunity to work on complex developments with significant mechanical scope. The Person:

  • Mechanical project management experience within construction or engineering
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, mechanical services or piping installations
  • Experience managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary project teams
  • Exposure to commissioning, testing and project handover activities
  • Commercial awareness and experience working alongside quantity surveying teams
  • Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience within data centres, pharmaceuticals, life sciences, advanced manufacturing or other regulated environments would be particularly valuable.

Package

  • €85,000 salary depending on experience
  • Permanent position
  • Major data centre and pharmaceutical projects
  • Long-term project pipeline in Sweden
  • Opportunities for progression as project responsibilities grow
