Mechanical Project Manager

Mechanical Lead / Project Manager – Data Centre Location: Norway Contract: Contract Opportunity Position: Client-Side We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Lead / Project Manager to join a major data centre project in Norway, representing the client throughout the delivery phase. This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically biased professional with strong data centre experience to take a leading role in overseeing mechanical systems, managing contractors, and ensuring works are delivered safely, to specification, and in line with programme requirements. Working client-side, you will act as a key point of contact between the client, consultants, contractors, and wider project teams, providing technical leadership and driving quality across all mechanical packages. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee the delivery of mechanical systems across a large-scale data centre project.
• Represent the client in meetings with principal contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and key stakeholders.
• Monitor contractor performance, programme, quality, and compliance with project specifications.
• Review and challenge technical submissions, design documentation, method statements, and commissioning plans.
• Oversee installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of mechanical systems, including HVAC, cooling infrastructure, and associated plant.
• Identify and manage technical risks, design issues, and programme constraints.
• Ensure works comply with relevant standards, health and safety requirements, and project expectations.
• Provide regular progress updates and report on project risks, quality, and delivery performance.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in a Mechanical Lead, Mechanical Project Manager, or similar senior mechanical role.
• Strong experience delivering large-scale data centre projects.
• Previous client-side, consultancy, or principal contractor experience with the ability to manage and challenge contractors effectively.
• Strong technical knowledge of mechanical building services, HVAC, cooling systems, and critical infrastructure.
• Experience overseeing installation, testing, commissioning, and handover.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure project environment.
