Overview PM Group has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Package Owner to join the delivery team on a major pharmaceutical manufacturing project in Denmark. This position will be responsible for the successful execution of a significant mechanical scope, covering process piping, utilities, HVAC systems, equipment installation, testing and commissioning activities. Working within a multidisciplinary project environment, the Mechanical Package Owner will lead mechanical contractors, manage package delivery, coordinate interfaces across engineering disciplines, and ensure all work is executed safely, to the highest quality standards, and in compliance with GMP and regulatory requirements.   • Lead and manage the Mechanical scope throughout the project lifecycle, from detailed design through construction, commissioning and handover.
  • Oversee the delivery of mechanical systems including process piping, utility piping, HVAC systems, pressure systems, equipment installation and associated infrastructure.
  • Coordinate mechanical systems integration with Process, Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation, CSA and Commissioning teams.
  • Ensure all mechanical activities are executed safely and in compliance with project EHS requirements, GMP standards, regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Review and approve mechanical drawings, specifications, method statements, work packages and installation procedures.
  • Manage mechanical contractors, subcontractors and vendors to ensure alignment with project safety, quality, schedule and productivity objectives.
  • Monitor construction progress and identify risks, constraints and mitigation actions to maintain project milestones.
  • Support design reviews, constructability assessments, technical query resolution and change management activities.
  • Coordinate installation, testing and commissioning activities for mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with mechanical completion, turnover and validation requirements within a regulated pharmaceutical environment.
  • Conduct field inspections and quality reviews to verify work is completed in accordance with approved specifications and quality standards.
  • Lead resolution of mechanical issues encountered during construction, start-up and commissioning.
  • Oversee punch list management, system walkdowns and close-out activities.
  • Maintain accurate construction records, inspection documentation, test records and turnover packages.
  • Provide regular progress updates, risk assessments and performance reports to project and construction leadership teams.
  • Drive a culture of safety, quality, collaboration and continuous improvement across all mechanical project activities.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years experience delivering large-scale pharmaceutical, biotechnology, chemical, life sciences or industrial projects.
  • Strong experience in process piping, utility systems, HVAC and mechanical equipment installation.
  • Demonstrated experience managing mechanical contractors and multi-disciplinary project interfaces.
  • Strong knowledge of GMP-regulated pharmaceutical construction environments.
  • Experience supporting commissioning, qualification and handover activities.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with Design & Build or EPCM project delivery models advantageous
