What you'll do

We are recruiting a Mechanical Package Manager on behalf of a client delivering major data centre and mission-critical construction projects across the Nordic region. This is an opportunity to take ownership of the mechanical package on a large-scale construction project, coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, engineering teams and site operations to ensure mechanical installations are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical building services or industrial mechanical construction, ideally gained on data centres, hyperscale facilities or other complex construction projects. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the mechanical package from planning and procurement through installation, testing, commissioning and handover.
  • Coordinate mechanical subcontractors, suppliers, site teams and engineering stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Monitor programme progress, installation sequencing, labour requirements and material deliveries against project milestones.
  • Oversee mechanical systems installation, including HVAC, chilled water, pipework, pumps, ventilation and associated plant equipment, as applicable to the project.
  • Review drawings, technical specifications, method statements and installation details to identify and resolve technical or coordination issues.
  • Manage package costs, variations, subcontractor valuations, procurement commitments and commercial risks.
  • Ensure all mechanical works comply with project specifications, applicable regulations, quality requirements and health and safety standards.
  • Coordinate with electrical, CSA, BMS and commissioning teams to resolve interfaces and avoid delays or rework.
  • Lead progress meetings, report on package performance and communicate risks, delays and mitigation plans to project management.
  • Oversee inspections, quality documentation, testing and commissioning activities, ensuring systems are ready for client handover.

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing mechanical packages on large-scale construction or engineering projects.
  • Experience working on data centres projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical building services, HVAC systems, pipework and associated plant installations.
  • Experience managing mechanical subcontractors, suppliers, budgets, programme delivery and project interfaces.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, construction programmes and technical documentation.
  • Strong understanding of construction health and safety, quality assurance and installation standards.
  • Experience coordinating with commissioning teams and supporting project handover.
  • Strong communication, leadership, planning and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, site-based project environment.
