Mechanical Package Manager

Mechanical Package Manager (Data Centres) The Mechanical Package Manager is responsible for the safe, successful and timely delivery of the mechanical package on a data centre project. Reporting to the Project Manager, the role leads the Mechanical Supervisors and manages the delivery of mechanical building services from design coordination through installation, commissioning and final handover. The Mechanical Package Manager works closely with subcontractors, consultants and client teams to ensure all mechanical works are completed safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities

• Package Delivery: Take ownership of the mechanical package from installation through testing, commissioning and final client handover, ensuring programme milestones are achieved.
• Leadership: Lead and support the Mechanical Supervisors, coordinating labour, resources and daily site activities to maximise productivity and quality.
• Subcontractor Management: Manage mechanical subcontractors and suppliers, monitoring performance, progress, safety and quality.
• Technical Coordination: Review mechanical drawings, specifications, BIM models and RFIs, ensuring compliance with project requirements and mission-critical standards.
• Commercial & Programme Management: Monitor project schedules, labour resources, cost control, variations and procurement in conjunction with the Project Manager.
• Quality & Commissioning: Ensure QA/QC procedures are followed, oversee inspections and support the successful commissioning and handover of all mechanical systems.
• Health & Safety: Promote a positive safety culture, ensuring all mechanical works are delivered in accordance with Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.

Job Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience in Mechanical Package Management or Project Management within data centres, pharmaceuticals or other mission-critical environments.
• Qualifications: Degree, HND or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of HVAC, chilled water systems, plant rooms, pipework, ventilation and mechanical building services.
• Core Skills: Proven leadership, subcontractor management, stakeholder communication, programme management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to deliver projects safely, on time and within budget.
