Keliber is an advanced lithium project, located in Kaustinen and Kokkola, Finland. Keliber aims to be the first European producer of battery-grade lithium hydroxide from its own mined ore reserves. Lithium hydroxide is used in lithium-ion batteries that play a significant role in the green transition. Keliber is a subsidiary of Sibanye-Stillwater, a multinational mining and metals processing Group, with Finnish Minerals Group as the second largest shareholder, a state-owned company developing the value chain of lithium-ion batteries.

Would you like to take on this unique chance and create new generations industry in Finland? As the construction phase of the project has started, our growing team is looking for a

MECHANIC

to perform preventive maintenance to ensure that machines and equipment are in good working order, as well as to carry out mechanical repairs and development work. The goal is to anticipate potential malfunctions and reduce unplanned downtime by improving the availability of production equipment.

As a mechanic, you will support production operations in matters related to availability and long-term operational development. The position primarily involves shift work at the Kokkola Refinery.

Your duties include:

  • Performing corrective maintenance work
  • Troubleshootin equipment
  • Improving the operation and maintenance of mechanical equipment
  • Performing preventive maintenance
  • Particitipating in the implementation of the operational maintenance systems and the preparation of guidelines
  • Preparing for and participating in the commissioning and ramp-up of production facilities
  • Promoting mechanical operational readiness for the start of production

In order to succeed, we expect You to:

  • Have a relevant degree, for example in mechanical or maintenance engineering
  • Have work experience, preferably in maintenance within the process and chemical industries, with a particular focus on mechanical or maintenance engineering
  • Have a precise and meticulous approach to work, the ability to work independently and in ta team. Problem-solving skill, initiative and collaboration skills are key requirements for success in this role
  • Commit to complying with safety regulations and procedures
  • Have proficiency in the Finnish language
