What you'll do

Nanize AS, based in Narvik, Norway and established in 2019, is developing technologies for replacement of Teflon/PFAS in many application areas. Current commercial efforts are focused on cookware/bakeware, release liners, technical fabrics and membranes and packaging, among others. Nanize has a 400m2 lab in Narvik, with an international team of 6 Master of Science, and 2 PhDs (Chemistry & Materials Science). Nanize offers a job opportunity for an enthusiastic and innovative Materials Chemist/Scientist to join its international R&D team. Main duties will include optimisation of functionalised additives and developing of coating formulations for improved performance. The successful candidate will be a resident of, or nearby Narvik, observant and meticulous and be fluent in English, the company's working language. Start date:Immediate. Requirements: ·MSc or PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, or related areas. · Experience in functional coatings, particularly based on sol-gel and polysilazane chemistry. · Understanding of materials' surface state and its impact on coating performance in aggressive chemical and thermal environments. · Experimental and theoretical knowledge of the physical chemistry and solution thermodynamics of macromolecular and colloidal systems, e.g. using light scattering methods. · Experience in quality assurance of coating formulation additives.
