What you'll do

The Strategy and Transformation unit is responsible for driving KONE’s long-term success by identifying the right strategic priorities, ensuring a common direction, and bringing the strategy to life together with KONE’s areas and other functions. Strategy & Transformation develops KONE’s strategy and operating model and is responsible for driving large strategic transformations across the company. We are looking for a highly motivated Manager, Mergers & Acquisitions to join our dynamic M&A team within KONE Strategy & Transformation. In this role, you will contribute to the execution of M&A transactions and support integration activities across the deal lifecycle. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and Frontline M&A teams, helping to coordinate cross-functional workstreams, support transaction execution, and drive high-quality decision-making through financial and strategic analysis. You will also contribute to the continuous development of KONE’s M&A processes, tools, and reporting. The location for this role is preferably Espoo, Finland, but the position can be based in any major KONE country in Europe. This role reports to Tuikku Alaviitala, Senior Vice President, Mergers & Acquisitions, Strategy & Transformation. Key Responsibilities

  • Drive cross-functional project delivery across transaction and integration activities.
  • Manage project execution and coordinate multiple stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of key milestones.
  • Take ownership of specific workstreams and deliverables within M&A projects.
  • Develop business cases, financial models, and valuation analyses; conduct financial analysis of potential acquisition targets.
  • Coordinate due diligence activities with legal, finance, tax, HR, and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support deal execution activities, including preparation of materials, analyses, and recommendations for decision makers and executive leadership.
  • Contribute to transaction negotiations and documentation processes.
  • Support integration planning and help monitor the performance and value creation of acquired businesses.
  • Coordinate collaboration between internal and external teams in an international environment.
  • Contribute to the continuous development of KONE’s M&A capabilities, processes, and reporting.

Requirements for the Role

  • Relevant university degree (e.g. M.Sc. in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent).
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, transaction advisory, strategy consulting, or other project-based roles involving complex cross-functional environments.
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to interpret financial statements, assess value drivers, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Experience supporting M&A transactions, integrations, or other strategic projects.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, negotiation, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to take initiative, drive workstreams, and deliver results in a fast-paced international environment.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills, including proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to transaction-driven timelines when required.
