What you'll do

Would you like to join the Collateral & Impairment team in Reporting Solutions responsible for several business-critical data hubs of collateral and credit deterioration data for business solutions and reporting processes? Do you want to participate in the data tech transformation in BEC, soon to be Nykredit Financial Technologies? BEC is looking for a Software Engineer to join the Reporting Solutions domain. The position will be based at our friendly office in Roskilde or Warsaw. Reporting Solutions plays a vital role in ensuring compliance of BEC’s member banks by managing a portfolio of 40+ business solutions within the business areas of Credit Risk and Finance Solutions, including several business-critical data hubs that support banks' business processes, internal reporting, and obligations in regulatory reporting. You will join the Collateral & Impairment team with responsibility for both maintenance and development of a portfolio of business solutions that ensure accurate, reliable, and traceable data on assets, collateral, impairment, and write-off used in business-critical credit risk processes as well as regulatory reporting. You will join a high‑performing, cross‑functional team, combining solid business knowledge with strong software engineering practices. The team works with Mainframe, Netezza, and Databricks platforms and does coding in COBOL, SQL, and Java, and apply BI tools such as PowerCenter and SAP Business Objects. The team is currently situated in Herning but will transition and consolidate in Roskilde and Warsaw by end of 2027. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of BEC’s data tech transformation, using modern, Cloud-based technologies and event‑driven architectures to build scalable data products to substitute for current business solutions. This will give banks easier access to trusted, consistent data, whether for self-service analytics, reporting, regulatory requirements, or operational processes. Primary tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Manage incidents and problems effectively in close collaboration with colleagues and clients.
  • Maintain and develop systems, data, and platforms within the business area of Credit Risk.
  • Ensure stable operations through maintenance, housekeeping, and quality improvements.
  • Design end-to-end data processing flows for collateral, impairment, and regulatory data.
  • Develop high-quality business solutions based on business requirements in close cooperation with key stakeholders internally in BEC and clients.
  • Collaborate closely with Business Analysts, Software Engineers, and Architects in Reporting Solutions to ensure high-quality, reliable, and well‑governed data foundations.
  • Participate in the data tech transformation in BEC towards a modern data platform using Databricks.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of the development process and client engagement.

To succeed you will have:

  • A relevant Master degree.
  • 5y+ work experience as Software Engineer from Banking or financial IT.
  • Preferably, with work experience as a team architect.
  • Preferably, work experience from the banking sector in Denmark.
  • Extensive knowledge of collateral, impairment, and regulatory data.
  • Extensive work experience with Mainframe, DB2, JCL, COBOL, and I*Net.
  • Preferably, programming skills in SQL, Python, and Java.
  • Preferably, experience with PowerCenter workflow development.
  • Experience with Git, Jira, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience of working in agile setups like Scrum or SAFe.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Fluency in English, written and spoken.
  • Danish is an advantage.
