What you'll do

Do you want to be part of the action at a European investment firm helping build tomorrow's leading companies? Then you should apply to be Kinnevik’s next LUMA. As LUMA, you will spend a year close to our management team, learning how a growth investor actually works. You will take part in the day-to-day operations of the business and in longer-term, strategic projects across a variety of functions. It is a chance to see, up close, how growth companies are built, and to build a broad professional network within the Kinnevik sphere along the way. The word LUMA is derived from the Latin word lumen, meaning light. LUMA was the name given to this unique position at Kinnevik when it was first launched in 1977, as Kinnevik was looking for a talented trainee to bring bright ideas to the business. Today, it means that we are looking for a person who is curious, innovative, humble, adaptable and a true team player with a genuine interest in business building. Kinnevik is a leading growth investor, active owner and operational partner, providing patient capital to challenger technology-enabled businesses. We invest at every stage of a company’s growth journey, always with an eye on long-term value. Working at Kinnevik means having impact, shaping decisions, and being part of building what comes next, together. Throughout the LUMA year, you will

  • Provide direct support to our management team, getting a front-row view of how decisions actually get made
  • Receive mentorship from senior leaders across the organization
  • Deepen your understanding of the investment process and company valuations by working with the investment and finance teams
  • Sit at the center of the business and stay close to the pulse
  • Earn in-depth knowledge of one of our portfolio companies through a dedicated secondment
  • Gain hands-on project management experience by driving your own workstreams

And that's just the start. This is a role you'll shape around your own strengths and interests as you go. What we are looking for in our next LUMA You are:

  • A self-driven problem-solver who thrives on challenges
  • A curious, innovative team player
  • A motivated project leader
  • Equipped with strong analytical skills
  • Genuinely interested in the investments and growth strategies
  • Known for your integrity, sociability, and excellent communication skills
  • Fluent in written and spoken English. While Swedish proficiency is beneficial, it is not mandatory

Your previous experience:

  • Strong academic background, preferably within business/economics or engineering
  • Currently in your final year of studies, recently graduated or up to 3 years of post-graduation work experience
  • Experience from private equity, management consulting or investment banking is preferred, as is other exposure to investment work such as financial analysis, valuation or due diligence
  • International experience, work experience alongside studies, or other extracurricular engagements are desirable
