Linux System Administrator Our client is a global engineering and technology organisation at the forefront of innovation within advanced simulation, high-performance computing, and digital engineering. Their teams develop and maintain critical infrastructure that supports complex engineering workloads, enabling large-scale data processing, visualisation, and simulation environments used across the business. About the Role As a Linux System Administrator, you will play a key role in the design, implementation, and support of a large-scale Linux-based platform supporting remote engineering and high-performance computing environments. This is a hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys working across infrastructure, automation, and platform engineering. You will be responsible for ensuring the environment remains secure, scalable, and highly available while driving improvements through automation and Infrastructure as Code. Working closely with infrastructure and engineering teams, you will help deliver robust Linux solutions that support critical business operations and engineering activities. Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise Linux infrastructure environments
• Develop and enhance automation solutions using Ansible and Infrastructure as Code methodologies
• Support platform reliability, availability, performance, and security
• Create and maintain CI/CD workflows and deployment processes
• Collaborate with infrastructure and platform engineering teams on architecture and system improvements
• Troubleshoot complex Linux and infrastructure issues
• Produce and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and architecture designs
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across automation and platform management

Requirements

• Strong experience administering Linux environments (RHEL, Rocky Linux, or similar enterprise distributions)
• Proven experience with Ansible and infrastructure automation
• Strong Bash scripting skills
• Experience working with Git and GitLab
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment practices
• Good knowledge of networking, system security, and monitoring principles
• Experience designing and maintaining scalable infrastructure platforms
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of complex technical environments
