Java Developer – Gothenburg, Sweden Location: Gothenburg, Sweden Work Model: Fully Onsite Contract Duration: 6–12 Months Employment Type: Contract Experience: 5+ Years Job Description We are looking for an experienced Java Developer to join our development team in Gothenburg. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, and cloud-based application development. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable Java applications. Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices using Java and Spring Boot. Work with databases and write efficient SQL queries. Participate in the complete software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, development, testing, deployment, and support. Integrate applications with internal and external systems. Troubleshoot production issues and perform root-cause analysis. Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code. Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical design decisions. Work closely with architects, developers, testers, and business stakeholders. Follow Agile/Scrum development practices. Support CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes. Required Skills 5+ years of professional Java development experience. Strong knowledge of Java 8/11/17+. Strong experience with Spring / Spring Boot. Hands-on experience with REST APIs and Microservices. Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases. Experience with Git and Maven/Gradle. Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes is preferred. Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices. Good understanding of software design principles and design patterns. Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams. Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
