Lead Hardware System Architect Location: Espoo / Helsinki, Finland Work Setup: On-site Employment: Full-time Level: Lead Industry: Biotechnology / Medical Diagnostics Salary: €5,000–€7,000/month About the Role People Hive HR is supporting one of our clients, a fast-growing deep-tech biotech startup, in the recruitment of a Lead Hardware System Architect. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for shaping the architecture of next-generation diagnostic instrumentation. You’ll own the electronics and embedded systems stack across mixed-signal hardware, embedded firmware, FPGA development and system integration. Key Responsibilities

• Own system-level hardware architecture from concept through production
• Design mixed-signal and high-voltage PCBs, including precision analog and low-noise measurement systems
• Develop FPGA/HDL solutions using VHDL, Verilog or SystemVerilog
• Integrate hardware with photonics, microfluidics and mechanical systems
• Lead hardware bring-up, verification, debugging and production transfer
• Establish scalable engineering standards, tooling and development practices

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years experience in mixed-signal, embedded or high-voltage electronics
• Strong experience across the full hardware lifecycle: architecture, PCB design, firmware, FPGA, validation and production
• Expertise in multilayer PCB design
• Experience with FPGA-controlled actuator or sensor systems
• Proven track record delivering reliable, production-grade hardware
• Strong engineering leadership and system-thinking capabilities
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment
• Experience collaborating across hardware, optics, fluidics and mechanical engineering teams

Experience in semiconductor technologies, medical devices, biotech instrumentation, photonics or precision sensing systems would be an advantage. What’s Offered
