What you'll do

Job description: About Landmark Landmark, a Halliburton company, builds the software and data platforms that help the global energy industry make better decisions. Our products span subsurface interpretation, well construction planning, reservoir simulation, production optimization, and digital operations. These are tools used daily by engineers and scientists at the world’s largest energy companies and run as cloud-native SaaS platforms and as enterprise on-premises solutions. About the role This is a full-time position for a Lead Frontend Software Engineer to take technical ownership of the frontend architecture of our engineering application. The ideal candidate has experience leading the development of high-performance, data-heavy software used for analytics, simulation, scientific or engineering workflows. You will define the frontend architecture, establish engineering standards, and lead the continued evolution of a complex React and TypeScript application. The application is a complex engineering workspace, combining analytical workflows, large datasets, persistent user state, and interactive 2D/3D visualization. Data visualization is an important part of the product, but the broader responsibility is to deliver a reliable, maintainable, and intuitive application for demanding technical users. You will collaborate with domain experts, product managers, designers, backend engineers, and other developers to translate complex requirements into effective user experiences. The role combines hands-on software development with technical leadership, architectural decision-making, and long-term ownership of frontend quality and performance. Qualifications

  • Strong React and TypeScript skills
  • Previous experience leading the frontend architecture of a complex production application
  • Must have built a complex frontend for analytics, simulation, scientific or other data-intensive platform
  • Strong understanding of frontend architecture and scalable application design
  • Experience using state management tools such as Zustand, TanStack Query, Redux or equivalent
  • Proven ability to optimize browser performance for large datasets, including asynchronous loading, render optimization, memory management and responsive interaction handling
  • Comfortable contributing to API design, integrating asynchronous backend services and occasionally working beyond the frontend
  • Strong frontend testing, debugging, observability and production-troubleshooting practices
  • Ability to make pragmatic architectural decisions, explain trade-offs and balance long-term maintainability with delivery needs
  • Experience with technical charting or visualization technologies such as D3.js, Plotly, Three.js, WebGL or Canvas is a big advantage
  • Familiarity with scientific computing, CAD, GIS or other engineering disciplines is an advantage

Personal Attributes

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage key stakeholder relationships
  • A structured, analytical and proactive approach to solving complex technical challenges
  • Takes ownership and provides technical direction without requiring heavy supervision
  • Customer-focused, with an interest in understanding how technical and engineering users work
  • Balances architectural quality, product needs and delivery constraints
  • Team player who enjoys collaboration, mentoring and knowledge sharing
  • Independent, curious and self-driven
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with evolving requirements
  • Proficient with AI-assisted development tools and able to evaluate, test and maintain AI-generated code
  • Interested in exploring new technologies and learning unfamiliar engineering domains
  • Identifies with Halliburton’s core values: Safety, Trust, Collaboration, Integrity and Respect
