About the role As our Lead Engineer, you'll shape the future tooling that helps create some of the most ambitious LEGO® models in existence. You'll work in Creator and AFOL Technology, building the systems that help designers visualize large-scale models in 3D, generate building instructions, estimate brick requirements, and create assets that bring concepts to life. This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll help modernize a long-standing application landscape while defining the technical direction for the future. You'll balance architecture decisions with day-to-day development and help remove friction from the design-to-production process. Required Qualifications - Delivered 6+ years of software development experience, ideally including C++ applications. - Built software architectures that support complex products and long-term evolution. - Led software development teams through technically challenging initiatives. - Managed delivery across complex environments while providing clarity and direction. - Shipped applications used by internal and external users at scale. - Defined backend capabilities that enabled business-critical applications and workflows. Preferred Qualifications - Applied AI-driven automation capabilities within software products or processes. - Developed autonomous or workflow-based systems that improved efficiency. - Created software supporting design, manufacturing, engineering, or other physical products. - Delivered desktop or client applications across multiple devices and testing environments. What you'll build - Tooling that enables designers to create large-scale LEGO models faster and more effectively. - 3D visualization capabilities that help teams understand, review, and refine models. - Systems that suppor t s the big model production that helps showcase LEGO models to the millions of fans across the world . - Building instruction tools that help manufacturing and model production teams deliver with quality. - Technical foundations that reduce process loops and improve workflow efficiency. - A future-ready architecture for a product ecosystem that has evolved over many years. Within your first year, you'll help place meaningful new capabilities into the hands of designers, enabling faster iteration and stronger workflows. Life on the team You'll join Creator and AFOL Technology, a hybrid team of engineers, designers, and data specialists working across C++, data science, and backend development. We're shaping the future of the tooling behind creative experiences at the LEGO Group. Curiosity is important here. What success looks like Success means helping the team unlock creativity through effective, frictionless tooling while establishing a clear technical direction for the years ahead. Over the next 12 to 18 months , you'll help drive a significant transformation of the tooling landscape and contribute to a multi-year modernization effort. You'll work closely with engineers, designers, product leadership, and specialist stakeholders to ensure technology genuinely supports the creative process from concept through production. Leadership
