What you'll do

ABOUT THE COMPANY A Copenhagen-based stealth startup developing a platform for remote sensing applications. The work is real; you'll own airframe design end-to-end, moving fast from analysis to printed hardware to flight test, with meaningful equity and impact at this early stage. WHAT YOU'LL BUILD The airframes that carry the company's remote sensing hardware, engineered to be aerodynamically efficient, structurally sound, and reliable in diverse operating environments. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define airframe geometry (planform, sections, control surfaces) and validate it with low Reynolds number aero analysis
  • Design internal structure and load paths, validating spars and joints with FEA
  • Maintain a fully parametric CAD model to support rapid design iteration
  • Optimise parts for additive manufacturing: print orientation, modular design, part splitting, joint design
  • Build, assemble, and flight test prototypes; diagnose failures and drive corrective redesign

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 5+ years in aircraft structures, vehicle design, and/or UAV development, or equivalent depth from UAV, racing, or research builds
  • Strong BSc plus proven aircraft/UAV work welcome; MSc/PhD in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering preferred
  • Solid structural design skills: parametric CAD, composites awareness, FEA, load path thinking
  • Working knowledge of low Reynolds number aerodynamics and CFD (e.g. XFLR5, AVL, ANSYS, or similar)
  • Hands-on FDM/additive manufacturing for lightweight structural parts (e.g. LW PLA), including prototyping and post-processing
  • A record of owning multidisciplinary engineering work end-to-end; strong written communication for a primarily async team

NICE TO HAVE

  • OpenVSP or CFD experience beyond panel methods
  • Avionics, EPS, powertrain, or payload integration experience
  • Composite and carbon spar reinforcement experience
  • Flight test experience or background in sailplane, UAV, or high/low altitude platforms

WHO THRIVES HERE People who've built things before: RC/UAV club veterans, research lab prototypers, additive manufacturing tinkerers. If your experience doesn't look like a traditional OEM aircraft structures resume but you've designed, printed, and flown real hardware, we want to hear from you. HOW TO APPLY Send your CV and a few photos or a short portfolio of things you've designed, built, or flown. No cover letter required.
