What you'll do

About The Role Aurora Engineering is looking for a structured and proactive Junior Software Configuration and Release Manager to support an automotive software platform team. You will coordinate software integration, configuration and releases for a central electronic control unit (ECU), working across Linux, Adaptive AUTOSAR and Classic AUTOSAR. The platform also includes QNX, hypervisor, boot software and hardware-related components. Working closely with architects, system engineers, developers and test teams, you will help ensure that software builds and releases are stable, documented, traceable and repeatable across different variants and platforms. Your Responsibilities

  • Manage software configuration and release activities across the central ECU’s software stacks.
  • Define and maintain versioning schemes, configuration baselines and release strategies.
  • Improve automation for software builds, integration and packaging through CI/CD pipelines.
  • Coordinate branching, merging and integration across software domains and suppliers.
  • Maintain configuration and release tools, such as Git, GitLab, Jenkins and Artifactory.
  • Ensure software deliveries include correct tagging, documentation and release notes.
  • Support software traceability in line with applicable process, functional safety and cybersecurity requirements, including ASPICE, ISO 26262 and ISO/SAE 21434.
  • Coordinate release readiness reviews, regression testing and the inclusion of bug fixes in release baselines.
  • Investigate and resolve build and integration issues together with development and system teams.
  • Work with Product Owners and Product Managers to align releases with programme milestones and vehicle development timelines.

What you bring

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Typically 2–5 years of relevant experience in software configuration and release management within automotive or embedded systems.
  • A strong understanding of Git-based workflows, version control, branching and merging.
  • Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, Artifactory, GitLab or Bitbucket.
  • An understanding of embedded build systems and cross-compilation toolchains.
  • Familiarity with layered embedded software platforms and the dependencies between their components.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to collaborate across international and multidisciplinary teams.

Who you are You are analytical, organised and attentive to detail. You understand how consistent configurations, clear documentation and reliable automation contribute to software quality. You take ownership of your work, enjoy solving integration problems and communicate clearly about release content, dependencies and risks. You work well with others and look for practical ways to improve the software delivery process. Apply Apply with your CV and a brief description of your experience with embedded software, configuration management and CI/CD pipelines.
