What you'll do

This role exists so that the experiments actually run: samples prepared, test matrices executed, equipment operated and kept in shape, data brought back clean. It is for someone at the start of their career who wants to learn a real semiconductor process line with their hands, next to the engineers who designed it, and grow into owning a process step.

  • Run experiments end to end. Prepare the samples, execute the test matrix, record every condition, and report what actually happened — including the runs that did not work.
  • Operate the equipment. Plating and wet-process benches, sample preparation and post-processing, inspection and metrology tools. You run them, you keep them in shape, you notice when they drift.
  • Work in the cleanroom. Gowned, to protocol, for a meaningful share of your week.
  • Turn raw data into an answer. Clean it, plot it, compare it against what you expected, and raise the anomaly before anyone else sees it.
  • Keep the record straight. Process logs, parameter sheets and procedures a colleague can repeat next month without asking you a single question.
  • Support process qualification and troubleshooting alongside the Process Engineer — and grow into owning a process step of your own.
  • Degree in Materials Science, Materials or Mechanical Engineering, Physics or Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 0 to 2 years of experience. A thesis or an internship in a lab counts here.
  • Exposure to cleanroom work, microfabrication, metrology or design of experiments is a bonus, not a filter.
  • Familiarity with or interest in semiconductor processes, from your degree, your thesis, an internship or self-driven interest.
  • Comfort with data. Spreadsheets at minimum; Python, R or JMP is a plus.
  • Working English, written and spoken, and the willingness to write clearly in it. Italian is a plus.
  • Hands-on instinct. You like machines, fixtures, and making something work on the bench.
  • Precision and method. A tolerance is a tolerance, a step order is a step order, and a number without a unit is not a number.
  • Curiosity that survives routine. The twentieth sample gets the same attention as the first, and you still want to know why it came out different.
  • A proactive mindset. You see something that needs doing, you start, and then you tell us.
  • Small team, short cycles, visible mistakes. We value people who say what they think early and change their mind when the data says so.
  • Open mindset. You are not afraid to challenge assumptions, and you want to contribute to advancing the state of the art.

You will learn a real semiconductor process line from the people who designed it, on equipment we build and improve ourselves. This is not a desk job. You will be on your feet, in the lab and in the cleanroom, and some days are one careful repetition after another — precision matters more than speed on every one of them. If that sounds like the part you would want to skip, this is not the right role. If it sounds like the part where the answers actually come from, keep reading
