Junior Mechanical Design Engineer – Kickstart Your Career in Engineering!

About the role

In this role, you will get the opportunity to develop mechanical components and assemblies while adapting existing designs to specific customer orders. The work perfectly combines practical design tasks with cross-functional collaboration across engineering, production, and supplier teams. In this role, you will be employed in a 12-month fixed-term contract with our client company, working as an embedded consultant for an in-house product company.

Work tasks

Your daily tasks will revolve around 3D modeling and creating precise manufacturing documentation for customized orders. You will ensure that technical specifications are met and that production has the correct information to build the components.

• Producing and updating 3D models for mechanical parts and subsystems.
• Preparing accurate, detailed manufacturing drawings.
• Adapting established product designs to order-specific requirements.
• Keeping design records and related information up to date in PDM and ERP systems.
• Collaborating with sales, R&D, manufacturing, and suppliers.

We are looking for

• Mandatory: A bachelors or masters degree in mechanical engineering (or currently finalizing your studies).
• Mandatory: Hands-on experience with PTC Creo. This can be from your studies, internships, thesis work, or academic/personal projects.
• Mandatory: Fluent communication skills in English.
• Advantage: Basic understanding of manufacturing methods, engineering fundamentals, and familiarity with PDM systems.
• Personality: You are eager to learn, responsive to feedback, and possess a careful, detail-oriented approach to your work.

Schedule for the recruitment:

Location & Remote work:

• The client's office is located in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area. The role requires working at the office for a minimum of 2 days per week to ensure smooth onboarding and teamwork.
