About Us SALAB is a contract manufacturer cosmetics company specializing in product development and formulation science. We are looking for a motivated Junior Chemist to join our R&D team and contribute to the development of innovative products. Job Description As a Junior Chemist, you will support our research and development team through hands-on laboratory work, formulation, and cross-functional collaboration. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting laboratory analysis and experimental work to support product development projects
  • Formulating and testing new product recipes/prototypes using established and emerging techniques
  • Analysing experimental and sensory data, and presenting findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Documenting research findings through scientific reports and presentations
  • Coordinating logistics for trials (e.g., sensory or stability testing), ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory standards
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams (R&D, production, quality) to support scale-up and product launches
  • Contributing to continuous improvement of formulation and testing processes

Qualifications & Requirements Required:

  • A degree (Bachelor's or Master's) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related scientific field
  • Practical laboratory experience, gained through academic research, internships, or industry placements
  • Strong data analysis skills and proficiency with standard office software (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience in product formulation and/or sensory evaluation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including scientific report writing
  • Fluent English (written and spoken) and/or Swedish

Desirable:

  • Experience in FMCG, food, confectionery, or cosmetics product development
  • Programming/data analysis skills (e.g., Python)
  • Swedish language skills
  • Experience presenting scientific findings to industry stakeholders
