IT Project Manager, Stora Enso, flexible location

About the role

In this role, you will oversee IT project management activities across the full project lifecycle, from initial planning and design through execution, deployment, and stabilization. You will collaborate actively with cross-functional teams, software vendors, and implementation partners to keep project tracks aligned. Your main focus is ensuring that all technical deliverables meet agreed scope, schedule, quality, and governance standards. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in managing dependencies and keeping stakeholder communication clear and efficient throughout the process. This position is ideal for an experienced project management professional who thrives in orchestrating complex, enterprise-level technology initiatives. The work can be done remotely from anywhere in Finland.

Work tasks

• Lead the IT project management activities throughout the implementation lifecycle, from mobilization and design through build, testing, deployment and stabilization.
• Establish and maintain the detailed IT project plan, milestones, dependencies, deliverables and critical path.
• Coordinate activities across internal IT teams, business teams, implementation partner and other external vendors.
• Drive technical planning and ensure alignment between functional implementation and technical delivery.
• Monitor implementation partner and vendor delivery against contractual scope, milestones and agreed quality expectations.
• Facilitate IT project governance, steering material, status reporting and decision-making.
• Manage IT risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies and decisions, ensuring timely escalation and resolution.

We are looking for

• Proven experience in managing complex enterprise IT implementations, SaaS/cloud applications, and multi-vendor ecosystems.
• Strong track record in vendor and system integrator management, including challenging delivery plans, estimates, and technical assumptions.
• Experience in coordinating multiple internal and external teams in an international, cross-functional environment.
• Solid understanding of core enterprise landscapes, ERP environments, data migration, integrations, testing, and deployment.
• Strong project governance capabilities with solid knowledge of risk management, scope control, and security/architecture standards.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with fluent spoken and written English.

Experience with Source-to-Pay (S2P/P2P) platforms, SAP ECC integrations, global rollouts, or AI-enabled tools is considered a strong advantage.
