iOS Engineer, Device Integration

About Sesame Sesame believes in a future where computers are lifelike - with the ability to see, hear, and collaborate with us in ways that feel natural and human. With this vision, we're designing a new kind of computer, focused on making voice agents part of our daily lives. Our team brings together founders from Oculus and Ubiquity6, alongside proven leaders from Meta, Google, and Apple, with deep expertise spanning hardware and software. Join us in shaping a future where computers truly come alive. About The Role We’re looking for an experienced iOS Engineer to help build the Sesame app that powers our next-generation wearable devices. From initial setup to account management, personalized experiences, FW OTA, and beyond, you will be instrumental in the architecture, design, and implementation of our iOS app that works best with Sesame’s wearable devices. You’ll work closely with design, firmware, and backend teams to create a seamless, delightful user experience that connects our hardware to the digital world. Responsibilities

• Build Sesame’s standalone companion app, the foundation for a new consumer product category, on a team that highly values craft and quality.
• Work with hardware/firmware teams to design and implement a seamless iOS user experience with Sesame’s wearable devices.
• Work with multiple teams across engineering, design, and product to ship complex projects that delight users.
• Work with other iOS, Android, and web engineers to define Sesame's mobile and web strategy going forward.
• Write clean, testable, and maintainable code with a focus on performance and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews, CI/CD, and App Store release cycles.

Required Qualifications

• Strong intuition and deeply considered opinions about iOS app design and aesthetics; you can point to a portfolio of beautiful, useful apps that you either created yourself or were deeply involved in.
• Passionate about the complex engineering involved in building lightning-fast, ergonomic, and innovative iOS UI.
• Strong knowledge of iOS frameworks, Core Bluetooth, and Apple design guidelines.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across disciplines.
• Experience building apps for IoT or wearable devices.
• Experience working with BT/BLE-enabled devices and/or doing OTA firmware updates.

Preferred Qualifications

• Always up to date on the latest iOS UI/UX design patterns; tuned into the Apple release cycle and always thinking about how the latest features can help the team produce an even more incredible experience.
• Lots of hands-on experience with the software development lifecycle of iOS apps: build trains, test strategy, and the latest UI architecture patterns.
• Experience working with iOS AccessorySetupKit.
• Experience in a startup or fast-moving product environment.
