Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced Integration Specialist (WSO2) to manage, configure and further develop API management and integration capabilities in a modern cloud environment. The assignment combines WSO2 API platform management with infrastructure responsibilities across Linux-based virtual machines and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). A key part of the role is securing and governing access to LLM-based APIs and Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations through the API gateway. The role involves close collaboration with DevOps and platform teams. Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline. Key Responsibilities: - Platform Administration & DevOps Collaboration: Manage, govern, and maintain the WSO2 API platform across all environments (Linux VMs and AKS), overseeing deployments, security standards, performance monitoring, CI/CD automation, and technical documentation. - AI & Advanced Integration Governance: Securely configure and govern LLM-based APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic) and Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations, ensuring proper access controls (rate limiting, authentication), tool discovery, and observability through the API gateway. Technical Skills & Expertise:

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience administering WSO2 API Manager, preferably versions 3.x or 4.x.
  • Strong knowledge of WSO2 core components, including Gateway, Publisher, Developer Portal, Key Manager, Traffic Manager and Carbon-based architecture.
  • Proven experience integrating third-party key managers and identity providers with WSO2.
  • Experience installing, configuring and maintaining WSO2 API Manager on virtual machines, including database setup, load balancing and high-availability deployments.
  • Working knowledge of Azure AKS, including kubectl, Helm, node pools, networking, ingress controllers and monitoring.
  • Familiar with LLM APIs, including request/response structures, token-based billing, streaming, rate limits and API gateway governance.
  • Strong understanding of the Model Context Protocol (MCP), including client-server architecture, transport layers, session lifecycle, server development and deployment, client behavior and capability negotiation.
  • Experience securing MCP endpoints through authentication, authorization, input validation and sandboxing.
  • Able to troubleshoot MCP integrations, including tool call failures, transport issues, schema mismatches and timeout handling.
  • Solid knowledge of OAuth2, JWT, API security and certificate management.
  • Experience with Linux system administration.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills in distributed API gateway environments.
  • Understanding of how AI agents interact with external systems through tool-use protocols such as MCP.
  • Holding WSO2 certifications (Meriting).
  • Experience with WSO2 Identity Server or WSO2 Micro Integrator (Plus).
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform or Bicep for Azure infrastructure provisioning (Meriting).
  • Experience with API monetization and subscription-tier management (Advantage).
  • Experience building custom mediators or Synapse configurations (Plus).
  • Experience building or integrating MCP servers using TypeScript, Python or Java SDKs (Meriting).
  • Exposure to prompt engineering or AI/ML API orchestration patterns (Advantage).
  • Experience governing MCP traffic at scale, including routing, load balancing and monitoring multiple MCP server instances behind an API gateway (Highly meriting).

Soft Skills:

  • Communicate effectively across development, security, AI and infrastructure teams.
  • Ability to document complex technical configurations clearly.
  • Self-directed, with a strong focus on reliability and uptime.
