Role Description The Information Technology Field Engineer role is a contract, on-site position based in Bergen. The Field Engineer will provide hands-on technical support at client locations, including diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues. Daily activities include installing and configuring IT equipment, maintaining local networks and connectivity, managing printer setup and support, and performing routine system checks. The role involves responding to service requests, troubleshooting incidents, coordinating with remote support teams, and documenting work performed in accordance with company standards. The Field Engineer will interact directly with end users, ensuring reliable IT operations and clear communication on technical issues and resolutions. Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Information Technology and Technical Support skills for on-site service delivery and user assistance.
  • Candidates should possess Network Administration and Troubleshooting skills to maintain stable connectivity and resolve infrastructure issues.
  • Candidates should possess Printer Support skills, including installation, configuration, and maintenance of multi-function devices.
  • Relevant experience in field engineering, desktop support, or similar IT support roles, preferably in multi-site or client-facing environments.
  • Working knowledge of Windows operating systems, basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, routers, switches, Wi-Fi), and common office hardware.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, clear communication skills, and the capacity to work independently on customer premises.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, follow documented procedures, and maintain accurate service records and reports.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally within the Bergen area, as required by client assignments.
  • Relevant technical certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, or equivalent vendor certifications) are beneficial.
