HIL Development Engineer

At Tata Technologies, we make product development dreams a reality by designing, engineering, and validating the products of tomorrow for the world’s leading manufacturers. Due to our continued growth, we are now recruiting a HIL Development Engineer to strengthen our engineering team.

1. HIL Development & Integration (Mandatory)

• Design, development, commissioning, and maintenance of HIL test rigs.
• Integration of ECUs, I/O systems, communication interfaces, sensors, and actuators.
• Hardware configuration and setup using platforms such as dSPACE, Vector, ETAS, NI, or Speedgoat.
• Development of real-time test environments for vehicle subsystem or complete vehicle validation.
• Strong understanding of HIL architecture, signal flow, and interface management.

1. HIL Modelling & Real-Time Simulation (Mandatory work experience - at Any domain)

• MATLAB/Simulink model development for vehicle, plant, environment, and control system simulations.
• Real-time model optimization and code generation for HIL deployment.
• Vehicle Dynamics modelling and understanding of longitudinal, lateral, and powertrain behavior -( Not mandatory this point)
• Model validation, calibration, and debugging in real-time environments.
• Experience with simulation tools such as ASM, CarMaker, VTD, Prescan, or similar platforms. (Any tool basic understanding)

1. Automotive Communication & Diagnostics (Mandatory)

• Strong expertise in CAN, CAN FD, LIN, FlexRay, Automotive Ethernet.
• Development and troubleshooting of communication databases and network configurations.
• Hands-on debugging using CANoe, CANalyzer, ControlDesk, INCA, or similar tools.
• Root cause analysis of ECU, network, and system-level issues.

1. HIL Operations & Maintenance (Mandatory)

• Daily operation and monitoring of HIL benches.
• Software flashing, configuration management, and release deployment.
• Troubleshooting hardware, software, model, and communication-related issues.
• Test environment health monitoring and issue resolution.
• Coordination with development, validation, and integration teams for system readiness.

1. ADAS & Sensor Knowledge (Good to Have)

• Understanding of ADAS functions such as ACC, AEB, LKA, TSR, BSD, and Pilot Assist.
• Knowledge of Radar, Camera, LiDAR, Ultrasonic, GNSS, and IMU sensors.
• Experience with ADAS scenario generation and sensor simulation is advantageous.

1. System-Level Debugging & Technical Leadership (Highly Preferred)

• End-to-end debugging across ECU, communication network, simulation models, and HIL systems.
• Ability to define HIL architecture, improve test processes, and mentor engineering teams.
• Strong ownership mindset and capability to drive technical discussions with customers.
