What you'll do

Build HR from scratch – for 2,000+ people at sea and ashore Organizational Development Partner · Group HR, Gotlandsbolaget Copenhagen, Visby or Stockholm Not much is built yet. That's the point. Gotlandsbolaget is a Nordic group with more than 2,000 colleagues on land and at sea across Denmark, Norway and Sweden. We run ferries with Destination Gotland, cruises with Gotland Alandia Cruises and Go Nordic Cruiseline, and we also cover ports and stevedoring, hotels and tech. Many of us work around the clock. We're now building a brand-new Group HR function. Group sets the direction and the common standards, and each company keeps full ownership of its own operations. This is a build phase, and you'd be joining at the start. Your job: make HR something that moves the business forward As Organizational Development Partner you'll help build the systems, processes, learning and data that let HR drive our strategy. You'll work closely with our Group CHRO, turning real business needs into HR solutions that work at scale and in practice. There's plenty to build, and we don't expect one person to be an expert in all of it. We'll shape the role around you, so where you put most of your energy depends on what you're good at and what drives you. Maybe that's the learning platform, maybe it's systems and data, maybe it's processes and change. We'll agree on it together. The role covers three countries, three sets of employment law, and business models that have very little in common. Whatever you build has to hold across the whole group and still make sense on the car deck in Oslo or in a hotel lobby in Visby. You'll report to the Group CHRO for direction and to the local Head of HR where you're based. That gives you a group mandate and stays close to daily operations. When the two agendas pull in different directions, you're the one who creates the clarity. Where you can make your mark These are the areas on our Group HR agenda. You'll work across them, with a focus shaped by your strengths. Learning and leadership development

  • Build the group's learning platform, covering structure, content, user journeys and reporting, so it works for seafarers and office colleagues alike
  • Make sure all mandatory training is in place, from STCW, safety and ISM/ISPS to working environment, GDPR and whistleblowing
  • Design and run leadership development, from first-line supervisors on board to senior managers, and deliver parts of it yourself if facilitation is your thing
  • Decide what to build in-house and what to buy, and manage the partners who deliver the rest

Systems that talk to each other

  • Lead the consolidation of our HR systems, from requirements and selection through to rollout and real adoption
  • Make sure HR, crewing, payroll and learning systems connect, so data is entered once and flows correctly
  • Work with Group IT and local teams on integrations, data structure and governance
  • Find manual processes that can be automated, and automate them

Processes people actually use

  • Shape common processes across the employee journey: recruitment, onboarding, performance, development, succession and offboarding
  • Find the balance between group standards and local needs, so solutions get used rather than worked around
  • Support change with structure, communication and follow-through, so it lasts beyond go-live

Data we can trust

  • Build our people analytics, including KPIs for management and the board on turnover, absence, crewing against budget, competence coverage and training compliance
  • Set shared definitions and data quality, so the numbers can be compared across companies and used without caveats
  • Turn the numbers into clear recommendations

The rules we play by

  • Help implement the EU Pay Transparency Directive (2023/970), covering job architecture, equal pay criteria and group-level reporting
  • Support compliance with MLC 2006, STCW, safe manning and our collective agreements
  • Make sure processes and systems meet GDPR and employment law in Sweden, Denmark and Norway

Is this you?

  • You have a relevant degree and [3–5+] years in organisational development, HR projects or HR system implementation
  • You bring solid experience in at least one or two of our focus areas, such as learning and leadership development, HR systems, process design or people analytics, and you're curious about the rest
  • You've led at least one major project and can tell us honestly what worked and what didn't
  • You've worked across companies, countries or cultures, and you know what it takes to make a shared solution work locally
  • You're comfortable with data and care just as much about whether the solution works for the user
  • You can move between strategy and hands-on work, often on the same day
  • You communicate clearly in a Scandinavian language and in English
  • You work independently and systematically, even when the frameworks aren't fully defined yet

Experience from shipping, transport, tourism or other 24/7 operations is a plus, but not a must. What you get

  • A key role in building an entirely new HR function from the ground
  • A role shaped around your strengths, with real room to choose where you make your mark
  • Short decision paths and direct access to senior management
  • Broad exposure across six business areas and three countries
  • Based in Copenhagen, Visby or Stockholm
  • Competitive salary, pension, health insurance and attractive employee benefits
