We are looking for a Head Waiter / Head Waitressto join Restaurant Aihki, part of the Sunday Morning Resort in the heart of Pyhätunturi.

Restaurant Aihki is known for its modern Nordic cuisine, where locally sourced, pure ingredients take centre stage. Our restaurant has twice been recognised among Finland's Best Restaurants by _Kauppalehti Optio_ (2022 & 2023, rating 16+).

As our Head Waiter / Head Waitress, you will be responsible for the smooth day-to-day operation of the dining room as well as special events. You will lead, inspire and support the front-of-house team while ensuring outstanding service and memorable guest experiences. Working closely with our kitchen leadership, you will oversee the daily operations of the restaurant floor, maintain service quality and contribute to the continued development of our dining experience.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, taking responsibility and delivering exceptional hospitality. You approach your work with ambition, creativity and professionalism, while possessing excellent organisational and communication skills. Previous supervisory experience in hospitality is highly valued, together with a relevant education in the restaurant industry. Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is genuinely passionate about hospitality and committed to creating unforgettable guest experiences.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Leading the daily front-of-house operations at Restaurant Aihki
  • Welcoming and serving guests with professionalism and genuine warmth during breakfast, lunch and dinner service
  • Supervising, training and motivating the restaurant team
  • Ensuring excellent guest service and supporting upselling opportunities
  • Maintaining the highest standards of food and beverage service
  • Coordinating wine service and contributing to the development of wine lists and beverage recommendations together with the restaurant and kitchen teams
  • Managing the wine cellar and beverage inventory together with the restaurant and kitchen teams
  • Collaborating with the kitchen management in planning menus, special events and dining experiences
  • Maintaining quality standards, guest satisfaction and close cooperation with the wider management team

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Previous supervisory experience in a restaurant environment, preferably in fine dining or high-quality à la carte service
  • An excellent customer service mindset and strong interpersonal skills
  • The ability to remain organised, calm and positive under pressure
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt quickly to changing situations
  • Good command of Finnish and English (additional languages are considered an advantage)
  • A relevant qualification in hospitality or restaurant management, together with a willingness to continue developing professionally
  • A genuine interest in high-quality food, wines and memorable dining experiences
  • A valid Hygiene Passport and Alcohol Serving Passport

Employment

The position begins in late November or early December 2026 and continues until the end of the winter season in late March / early April 2027.

This is a full-time seasonal position.
