Mission As Head of Strategy Energy Solutions, you act as the strategic counterpart to the Executive Board member responsible for Division Energy Solutions and help shape the future direction of one of Alpiq’s key growth areas. Working closely with regional Heads within the division and stakeholders across Divisions Trading & Asset and corporate functions, you drive business strategy development and execution across markets and regions. Your mission is to translate strategic ambitions into measurable outcomes, ensure disciplined implementation, and identify opportunities for sustainable growth through market expansion, strategic partnerships and inorganic growth initiatives. Your Main Responsibilities Strategic Steering

• Review and further develop the Energy Solutions strategy, providing a cross-country perspective and driving alignment across the business.
• Translate strategic priorities into organization-wide actions, milestones, KPIs, ownership structures, and implementation roadmaps.
• Establish transparent performance management and accountability frameworks across regional and country commercial teams.
• Challenge and align commercial ambitions against market opportunities, available resources and execution capabilities.
• Identify strategic, organizational and execution gaps and define targeted measures to address them.
• Drive alignment of strategic priorities and implementation efforts across Energy Solutions, Trading, and Asset divisions to ensure effective cross-functional collaboration and value creation.

Market and Financial Assessment

• Develop a deep understanding of Energy Solutions economics, with particular focus on renewable energy solutions (RES), battery energy storage systems (BESS), market exposure, commercial risks and value drivers.
• Review, challenge and build business cases by evaluating CAPEX, OPEX, revenue assumptions, market scenarios and risk profiles.
• Leverage financial assessments and key metrics, including IRR, NPV, WACC, and sensitivity analyses, to inform strategic, investment, and commercial decisions in collaboration with the Finance department
• Translate strategic and financial assessments into clear recommendations and priorities for transactions and growth opportunities across Energy Solutions, in collaboration with regional Heads of Energy Solutions, Trading, and Asset divisions.

Strategic Partnerships and Inorganic Growth

• Define priorities for inorganic growth, including acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic partnerships and new market entry opportunities.
• Identify, assess and prioritize potential partners and targets based on strategic fit, technology, capabilities, scale and investment attractiveness.
• Own the business-side investment case for Energy Solutions initiatives, including strategic rationale, valuation assumptions, commercial due diligence and synergy assessment.
• Coordinate cross-functional initiatives with Finance, Legal, Tax and other support functions throughout transaction execution and post-deal implementation.

Executive and Stakeholder Collaboration

• Act as a trusted advisor and sparring partner to the Executive Board member responsible for Energy Solutions.
• Prepare strategic analyses, recommendations and decision papers for Executive Board discussions.
• Build strong alignment across regions, businesses and support functions to ensure consistent execution of strategic priorities.
• Navigate complex stakeholder environments with influence, credibility and sound judgment.

Your impact Reporting directly into the Executive Board responsible for Division Energy Solutions, you will play a key role in shaping the strategic direction and growth trajectory of one of Alpiq’s most important businesses. You will connect strategy with execution, ensuring that strategic priorities are translated into measurable business outcomes across regions and markets. You will influence investment decisions, partnership strategies and growth opportunities while creating transparency around performance and execution. Through close collaboration with Energy Solutions, Trading, Asset and corporate functions, you will help accelerate business growth, strengthen accountability and enable informed decision-making across the organization. Beyond strategy development, you will contribute to building a culture of execution excellence by fostering alignment, clarity and ownership across teams. Your work will directly support Alpiq’s ambition to expand its Energy Solutions business and strengthen its position in rapidly evolving European energy markets. Your profile

• Several years (7+ years) of experience in corporate development, strategy, management consulting or a comparable strategic role within the energy industry.
• Strong understanding of European power markets, renewable energy solutions (RES) and battery energy storage systems (BESS).
• Strong ability to interpret financial and investment assessments and translate them into strategic recommendations, including IRR, NPV, WACC, and sensitivity analyses.
• Proven ability to influence and collaborate with Executive Board members, senior leaders and regional management teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics and present them clearly and concisely.
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across countries, functions and business divisions.
