The opportunity: Head of Financial Crime and Regulatory Compliance Being part of HSBC in Sweden, you’ll help evolve and grow our business. HSBC Continental Europe Compliance HSBC Continental Europe (HBCE), a subsidiary of HSBC Holdings, is a leading wholesale bank in the European Union, with branch offices across EU countries. In addition to wholesale banking and markets, HBCE also provides a targeted Wealth & Personal Banking offering through subsidiaries in selected locations, including a private bank in Luxembourg and a universal bank in Malta. HBCE is headquartered in Paris where also its central compliance team is primarily located, in addition to local compliance staff in offices across the EU. All EU compliance activities report into the HBCE Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) based in the Paris office. HBCE Country Branch Compliance A Branch Compliance teams consist of Compliance Officers, including the Head of Financial Crime (FC) and Regulatory Compliance (RC), with expertise specific to the European Union (EU) country they operate in. They face the local business and provide country-specific advice, as they have expertise in local regulatory requirements. General advisory matters are mostly handled by the HBCE Compliance CoE, while more complex matters may involve specialists in the RC and FC teams. Besides their Risk Stewardship (advice and challenge) responsibilities Branch Compliance also performs typical RC and FC activities, such as interaction with the local regulator and MLRO duties (for which they liaise with the HBCE RC and FC teams as required). The Head of Financial Crime and Regulatory Compliance in Sweden is responsible for ensuring HSBC’s operations in the geography and/or line of business are effective in identifying, managing and mitigating Regulatory Compliance and Financial Crime and Fraud risks.
