What you'll do

Head of Finance – Podspace Podspace, a fast-growing podcast company, is hiring its first finance lead: a Head of Finance to build our finance function from the ground up, AI-native from day one. Stockholm (hybrid) · Full-time · Reports to the VP Operations · Works closely with the CEO About Podspace Podspace is the Nordics' fastest-growing marketplace and distribution platform for podcasts. We give creators, media companies and advertisers the tools to reach larger audiences and create more value, and we work with some of the region's biggest podcast creators and media houses. Podspace launched in 2023 and has grown quickly since: revenue nearly doubled in 2025, recently passed SEK 100M, and we have been profitable since 2024. We are still early in our journey, with expansion into Europe ahead. We are also AI-native: we automate what can be automated, in finance as much as anywhere else. Why join Podspace

  • Ownership in the company through our stock option program, so you are part of the journey you help build.
  • Close collaboration with the CEO and a seat at the table for strategic decisions, including our European expansion.
  • A fast, entrepreneurial environment with little bureaucracy, lots of responsibility and an ambitious, supportive team without prestige.
  • Room to grow: as the function scales, you can build and lead a team, and for the right person the role can develop into a CFO position.
  • Competitive salary based on experience, hybrid work and flexible hours.

About the role Today, bookkeeping, VAT, payroll and statutory accounting are handled by external accounting partners in Sweden and Finland. We now need someone to take full ownership of finance and build it for a company with several countries and much higher volumes. You will report to our VP Operations, who owns parts of the finance flow today, and work closely with the CEO on reporting, planning and strategic decisions. Your first-year priorities

  • Take ownership of the monthly close and make it fast and reliable with our accounting partners. Deliver a monthly reporting pack to management, the board and investors, plus a rolling forecast.
  • Take full control of the flow from invoice to payout, including minimum guarantees, so that every payout is correct and reconciled. Design how the flow should work at scale.
  • Select and implement a modern cloud ERP that works across entities and countries.
  • Automate the invoice-to-payout flow and put the first AI-driven workflows into production on the new setup.

What you'll do Invoice to payout

  • Own the end-to-end flow from campaign invoicing through revenue recognition to payouts to publishers and creators, including minimum guarantees and sales commissions. Make sure every step is accurate and watertight.
  • Work with our engineers on the data behind it, and automate wherever possible.

Accounting and systems

  • Own our external accounting partners: scope, deadlines, quality and fees.
  • Run the monthly close and the annual accounts, and be the main contact for auditors and tax advisors.
  • Lead the move to a new ERP, and use AI and agentic workflows to cut manual work across finance.
  • Set up processes, controls and policies that scale, including for new entities as we expand into new markets.

Reporting, planning and decision support

  • Deliver monthly management, board and investor reporting with clear commentary.
  • Own the budget and a rolling cash flow forecast across entities and currencies (SEK/EUR).
  • Build models and business cases with the CEO and VP Operations, for example for partner deals, pricing, fundraising and acquisitions.

What you'll bring

  • 6–10 years in finance, including several years in a fast-growing startup or scale-up, ideally where you built or significantly developed the finance function.
  • Strong accounting fundamentals, including revenue recognition, accruals and deferrals, and solid knowledge of Swedish accounting and VAT.
  • Experience of managing external accounting partners and holding them to a high standard.
  • A systems mindset and an AI-native way of working: you use AI tools daily, are comfortable working with data (ideally SQL) and instinctively look for what to automate.
  • Experience of building budgets, forecasts and financial models, and presenting them to management or a board.
  • A builder's attitude: comfortable being the only finance person and happy to roll up your sleeves.
  • Fluent English and Swedish.

Nice to have

  • Experience from a platform, marketplace or other high-volume business where invoicing, revenue and partner payouts need to reconcile, ideally in media, advertising or ad tech.
  • Experience leading an ERP evaluation or implementation.
  • Multi-entity and multi-currency experience across European markets.
  • Experience of fundraising, acquisitions or integrating new entities in an investor-backed company.
  • A background in audit or at an accounting firm.
