Head of Engineering - HVAC / ADVANCED HVAC / HEAT PUMPS / HEAT NETWORKS

Brightsmith are pleased to partner with a growing business operating at the forefront of the Nordic low-carbon heat transition, delivering projects across heat networks, energy centres, heat pumps and wider thermal infrastructure. As the business continues to grow its project pipeline, we’re looking for an experienced Head of Engineering to lead the technical direction of the business and play a hands-on role in delivering the next generation of Nordic heat infrastructure. This could be a great opportunity for someone coming from district heating, heat networks, large-scale heat pumps, energy centres, HVAC, building services, industrial energy or wider energy infrastructure. We’re open to candidates from process, thermal, mechanical or electrical engineering backgrounds, provided they have strong experience within the heat infrastructure space. What you’ll be doing:

• Leading the engineering function across low-carbon heat and energy infrastructure projects from concept through to commissioning.
• Providing technical leadership across heat networks, energy centres, large-scale heat pumps and wider thermal systems.
• Working across technical design, engineering, procurement, construction and installation.
• Leading and coordinating engineers, contractors, suppliers, consultants and wider project teams.
• Supporting project planning, budgets, schedules, risk management and technical strategy.
• Reviewing engineering designs and ensuring projects meet technical, safety and regulatory requirements.
• Working closely with clients, utilities, municipalities and other stakeholders across the Nordic energy market.
