Graduate Operations Associate

We're a small but ambitious VC fund backing early-stage founders across the Baltics and Nordics. We're looking for one exceptional recent graduate to join as our Operations Associate. This is not a traditional entry-level job. You'll learn anti-money laundering, state-aid regulation, fund administration and internal procedures from the inside of a working fund — and within a year, we expect you to own large parts of it. the role You'll start by running the fund's core compliance, finance and admin work under close guidance, and take over ownership as fast as you prove you can handle it. The pace of that handover is up to you. We don't expect you to know AML frameworks or GBER on day one. We do expect you to learn them faster than anyone we've hired, ask sharp questions, and build systems instead of just following checklists. Not a checkbox role. A learn-build-own role. what you'll do AML & KYC

• Investor & counterparty due diligence. Run KYC/AML checks on investors and portfolio companies using public databases and official registers — reviewed at first, then on your own.
• Ongoing monitoring. Run periodic reviews of existing investors and counterparties. Flag changes. Keep files current. Nothing expires unnoticed.
• Screening. Perform sanctions, PEP and adverse media screening. Document findings clearly and know when to escalate.

STATE-AID & REGULATORY COMPLIANCE

• State-aid tracking. Learn EU and national state-aid rules and help track the fund's investments against them.
• Altum & public co-investment. Prepare documentation for public co-investment partners, including Altum.
• Reporting inputs. Prepare compliance inputs for quarterly investor updates, annual reports and regulatory filings.

INTERNAL PROCEDURES & OPS

• Policies. Maintain and improve internal policies and manuals. Make them usable, not just audit-ready.
• Process improvement. Spot inefficiencies, propose fixes, and build automations for recurring tasks.
• Investment & admin support. Help prepare term sheets, board consents and side letters, and handle the day-to-day tasks that keep the fund running.

FUND ADMIN

• Capital calls & distributions. Prepare drawdown notices, track LP payments and maintain contribution/distribution records.
• Investor records. Maintain the LP register, commitments and capital accounts; help prepare investor reports.
• Accounting & audit support. Coordinate with our outsourced accountant on reconciliations, expenses and fees, and support the annual audit.
• Portfolio records. Record investments, follow-ons, conversions and exits, and support valuation processes.
• Controls. Help run payment approvals, four-eyes controls and the LPA deadline calendar.

who you are You're one of the strongest graduates of your year, and you have the record to show it. You're thorough and structured, you learn fast, and you'd rather build a system than tick a box. You want real responsibility early, in a lean team where your work matters from week one. MUST-HAVES

• A recent degree in economics/finance or engineering, with top-of-class results
• Clear evidence of going beyond the curriculum: a thesis, research, competitions, a demanding internship, a student organisation you led, or something you built
• Exceptional research and analytical skills — you can read a regulation and explain what it means in plain words
• Obsessive organisation: you track details and deadlines without being reminded
• Heavy and advanced user of AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT) to work faster and build automations
• Fluent in Latvian and English, written and spoken

NICE-TO-HAVES

• An internship or coursework in compliance, AML/KYC, audit, law or fund finance
• Interest in venture capital, startups or EU regulation (state aid, GBER, AIFM)
• Hands-on experience with Airtable, Notion or similar tools
• Swedish or another Nordic/Baltic language
