What you'll do

Company Description 00SMART AS is an Oslo-based technology company developing a smart-building platform that combines Internet of Things systems, real-time building data, Digital Twin technology, edge computing, and automatic fault detection for heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems. The platform is designed to connect heterogeneous building systems and data sources, structure and validate operational data, and make trusted information available for monitoring, diagnostics, visualisation and future intelligent building operations. 00SMART has already developed a substantial technical platform and is now preparing the next phase focused on strengthening, integrating, testing and validating the system in operational buildings. Role Description We are looking for a Full-Stack Software Engineer – IoT / Digital Twin who could join 00SMART in the next project phase. Important: this position is conditional on project funding being approved. It is not yet a confirmed employment offer. The platform already exists, so the role is not about starting from zero. You would work closely with the Technical Lead to understand the current system, take responsibility for defined components, and help strengthen and extend the platform. Typical work may include:

  • Frontend and backend development
  • REST APIs and system integrations
  • Real-time data and WebSocket-based communication
  • Database integration
  • IoT and external data-source integration
  • Digital Twin dashboards and user interfaces
  • Docker and deployment support
  • Testing, refactoring and documentation
  • Improving maintainability, reliability and software quality

Qualifications We are interested in candidates with experience in several of the following:

  • JavaScript / TypeScript
  • React, Next.js or similar frontend frameworks
  • Backend development and API design
  • PostgreSQL or similar databases
  • Docker and containerised applications
  • Redis, WebSockets, message brokers or real-time systems
  • IoT or system integration
  • Git, automated testing and CI/CD
  • Cloud or deployment environments

Experience with Digital Twins, building systems or HVAC is beneficial, but not required. The ability to understand an existing technical platform and work independently is more important. Working Arrangement The expected role is initially part-time/project-based, with the exact number of hours, compensation and start date to be agreed with the selected candidate. Oslo-based candidates are preferred because occasional in-person collaboration would be valuable, but hybrid or remote arrangements may also be considered. For the right candidate, there may be an opportunity to move into a larger or full-time role later, depending on project progress, company growth, funding and mutual fit. Any engagement will be subject to:

  • successful project funding
  • agreement on scope and hours
  • final contract
